Language identification is an elemental task in natural language processing, where corpus-based methods reign the state-of-the-art results in multi-lingual setups. However, there is a need to extend this application to other scenarios with scarce data and multiple classes to face, analyzing which of the most well-known methods is the best fit. In this way, Peru offers a great challenge as a multi-cultural and linguistic country. Therefore, this study focuses in three steps: (1) to build from scratch a digital annotated corpus for 49 Peruvian indigenous languages and dialects, (2) to fit both standard and deep learning approaches for language identification, and (3) to statistically compare the results obtained. The standard model outperforms the deep learning one as it was expected, with 95.9% in average precision, and both corpus and model will be advantageous inputs for more complex ta...

Due to the linguistic revitalization in Peru´ through the last years, there is a growing interest to reinforce the bilingual education in the country and to increase the research focused in its native languages. From the computer science perspective, one of the first steps to support the languages study is the implementation of an automatic language identification tool using machine learning methods. Therefore, this work focuses in two steps: (1) the building of a digital and annotated corpus for 16 Peruvian native languages extracted from documents in web repositories, and (2) the fit of a supervised learning model for the language identification task using features identified from related studies in the state of the art, such as ngrams. The obtained results were promising (97% in average precision), and it is expected to take advantage of the corpus and the model for more complex task...

Nowadays, an engineer’s work consists more and more of obtaining mathematical models of the studied processes. Great part of the literature referring to system identification deals with how to find polynomial models as Prediction Error Methods (PEM) and Instrumental Variable Methods (IVM). In case of complex systems, the state space model appears as an alternative to PEM and IVM models. For multivariable systems, these methods provide reliable state space models directly from input and output data. As systems of large dimensions are usually found in industry, the application of subspace identification algorithms in this field is very promising. Currently the subspaceidentification models Multivariable Output Error State sPace (MOESP) and Numerical algorithms for Subspace State Space System IDentification (N4SID), are topic of study. The objective of this work is to implement th...

This pest identification project using remote sensing with an unmanned aerial vehicle will show the scope that can be achieved in the field of agriculture and that are being used. The project has as its first stage the custom conditioning of the unmanned aerial vehicle composed of a flight structure and a camera system which will allow us to acquire data, in this case aerial images. Once the air vehicle is conditioned, the flight plans for the acquisition of images are established. This stage is delimited by the olive cultivation area that we want to evaluate. Once the conditioning has been completed and after executing the flight plans, the images are processed under two algorithm models, the results of which will eventually be interpreted in search of the identification of pests in the cultivation of the olive tree.

This article proposes a system that allows monitoring car accidents with the use of NFC technology. The solution is comprised of low-cost Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tools integrated into a mobile and web application that interact with the Google Maps API for efficient monitoring. The car accident reporting process collects and sends data manually through different service channels, which generates delays and, in some cases, the receipt of erroneous data. The proposed solution automates the accident reporting process by storing data from the users involved in the RFID tags and displaying them in the mobile and web applications, when generating a new report. Also, our application interacts with the Google Maps API to show the exact location from where accidents are reported, in order to speed up the process of attention by the PNP. The validation was carried out in the city of L...

In the present investigation, we use the error histogram analysis as a computational tool to define whether the model resulting from a system identification process should continue to be fitted, and the Hampel filter for the elimination of outliers as a tool that also avoids on model over-parameterization. To do this, we use three data sets from a four-cylinder BMW diesel engine, to identify a linear model, and then, with that model, analyze the error and its histogram in a data set (without noise, with noise and with outliers). The analysis of the histogram of the error was found to be a useful tool for detecting white noise and helps to avoid overfitting, in addition to the fact that the Hampel filter allowed detecting and eliminating atypical samples. The software used was MATLAB. © 2020 IEEE.

The aim of this master thesis is to design a control system based on model predictive control (MPC) with sensor data fusion for obstacle avoidance. Since the amount of obtained data is larger due to multiple sensors, the required sampling time has to be larger enough in comparison with the calculation time of the optimal problem. Then it is proposed a simplification of the mobile robot model in order to reduce this optimization time. The sensor data fusion technique uses the range information of a laser scanner and the data of a mono-camera acquired from image processing techniques. In image processing different detection algorithms are proposed such as shape and color detection. Therefore an estimation of the obstacles dimension and distance is explained obtaining accurate results. Finally a data fusion for obstacle determination is developed in order to use this information in the opti...

The design of a control system in certain processes in the industry is the main problem for engineers. Since the input and output data of a certain process are obtained, we can know the response of the system, the same that allows us to study a model prototype and using the theory of nonlinear control the limit cycles are predicted, we can propose a function descriptive whose parameters will be necessary to implement the Neurocontroller that will be trained with the Back propagation algorithm. In our case, we address the design and implementation of a Neurocontroller in the LabVIEW graphical program environment under the supervision of the Simulation Toolkit. Our application is the control of a prototype physical system whose model can represent first and second order systems. The model of the process dynamics was obtained experimentally, for which the identification of parameters was ap...

Hasty software development can produce immediate implementations with source code unnecessarily complex and hardly readable. These small kinds of software decay generate a technical debt that could be big enough to seriously affect future maintenance activities. This work presents an analysis technique for identifying architectural technical debt related to non-uniformity of naming patterns; the technique is based on term frequency over package hierarchies. The proposal has been evaluated on projects of two popular organizations, Apache and Eclipse. The results have shown that most of the projects have frequent occurrences of the proposed naming patterns, and using a graph model and aggregated data could enable the elaboration of simple queries for debt identification. The technique has features that favor its applicability on emergent architectures and agile software development.
