This study investigated consumers' perceptions of adding bee pollen to bread. An attitude questionnaire composed of 48 statements related to "general health," "light products," "natural products," "salty products," "food as a reward," "pleasure," and "food neophobia" was answered by the participants, who indicated their level of agreement with each statement according to a 5-point Likert scale, ranging from (1) "totally disagree" to (5) "totally agree." A check-all-that-apply (CATA) questionnaire was also employed to characterize 12 visual stimuli. The creation of stimuli was carried out using a factorial design, resulting in 12 images of bread. Three clusters of consumers were identified, each associating positive attributes with stimuli containing bee pollen, regardless of the health claim, while negative attributes were associated with stimuli without added pollen. The main positive d...

Currently, the criteria to air quality assessment are analyzed independently, leaving aside the systemic approach of the environment, where air quality is influenced and controlled by many types of factors, where several parameters interact and mutually restrict each other for that reason a higher evaluation system is proposed by Grey Clustering analysis based on fuzzy logic, which takes into account the high degree of uncertainty present in the environment. The methodological proposal will assess the quality of air in Lima Metropolitana. In this work, we apply Center-point triangular whitenization weight functions (CTWF) method, where it will be demonstrated that the proposed model is exact, comparable and applicable. The monitoring data on each city of Lima Metropolitana were obtained from National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology of Peru – Senamhi. The CTWF method was applied us...

MOFs (Metal-Organic Frameworks), are a new class of hybrid microporous materials defined as extended networks, formed by metal ions joined by covalent bonds coordinated with polyfunctional organic ligands, forming structures in 1D, 2D and 3D. This computational study evaluates the electronic properties and chemical reactivity of a section of the metal-organic network (MOFs) for copper with carboxylate ligands (benzoate) reported in the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) called hexaquis copper cluster (m2-Benzoate).

This work studies the interaction between natural dyes obtained from Peruvian Zea mays and Bixa orellana seeds and nanostructured titanium dioxide, in order to evaluate their function as sensitizers into solar cell devices. The effective attachment of dyes to the TiO2 layer is corroborated by the comparison of UV-Visible absorption and FT-IR spectra of the extracted dye solutions and sensitized TiO2 electrodes. The principal compounds from the seed extraction of Zea mays and Bixa orellana are cyanidin-3-glucoside (C3G) and bixin respectively, which were analyzed in an isolated dye/cluster TiO2 system by molecular dynamic simulation. The results showed that chemisorption is carried out through a consecutive deprotonation process, and Ti-O bond formation by the monodentate OH and COOH anchoring groups, for C3G and bixin respectively. Finally, we tested the effect of the dye - TiO2 interact...

We study the diet and trophic structure of 36 bat species from the Pampa Hermosa National Sanctuary. Faeces samples and gels with pollen were analyzed; seeds, pollen and remains of arthropods were found in the feces. Bats were classified in six functional groups. We found in the diet of the sedentary frugivores (FS), frugivorous nomads (FN) and nectarivores (N), 70 morphospecies of seed and pollen; in the diet of the aerial insectivorous (IA) and foliage gleaners (IR), nine morphospecies of arthropods. Principal component analysis shows the separation of bats and their diets; Carollia brevicauda-Piperaceae (Piper spp.), Vampyressa melissa-Moraceae (Ficus spp.), Sturnira lilium-Solanaceae; Anoura peruana and Anoura cultrata were separated by the consumption of Fabaceae and Bombacaceae, respectively, and Myotis spp. for the consumption of arthropods. The niche breadth was less than 0.50, i...

Its operation is based on the number of stations or modules in order to ensure better productivity of the system. This work intends to make a proposal for module used in the call center in the city of Manizales - Colombia, taking into account the standard technique Colombian NTC 1440 and international standards from the National Institute of safety and hygiene at work NTP 242 and NTP 602, with regard to ergonomic factors. The population was divided by a proportional stratified probability of cluster sampling. As a result it is proposed a flexible modular prototype, which has the conditions with which it is expected to achieve increases in productivity and reduction of injuries or illnesses that may occur when working on th...
