The growing activity generated in digital communication platforms is raising new forms of relationship between organizations and their publics of interest. This has triggered, in turn, the production of a large amount of information, an explosion of data known as Big Data. In this new context, there is a need to study how the management of this huge amount of information faced in public relations, which is constantly generated at high speed and which requires even real-time management. In this work, we present a bibliographic review of the current state of research on the management of Big Data in Public Relations. The results showed a total 41 works. A content analysis of these works found that the activities of internal communications, media relations, crisis communications and issues management are the most related to massive data management.

It is well-known that Coronavirus has been propagated due to human activities mainly based at intercontinental flights. Thus, in the first months of 2020, most new countries have already presented peaks in the number of infections, so that airports and borders were closed. With the social restrictions imposed along the beginning of second semester of 2020, the curve of cases of infections has exhibited to be flat in comparison to the beginning of 2020. In the ongoing Covid-19 panemic the social distance is needed to guarantee healthy oral Communications even with the wearing of a mask. In this paper the so-called social distancing is calculated with the usage of simple kinematics and other physics-based concepts. According to the calculations of this study the distance depends on the square root of a logarithm and the initial number of expelled aerosols per unit of volume. Computational simulations were carried out. The result havd shown that the environment that supports the lifetime of aerosol is a relevant variable that suggests that thermodynamics needs to be applied to formulate a precise theory of infection based at aerosols in order to estimate an universal social distancing policy.

The management of a private Peruvian university along the period 2020-2021 is presented. Special attention has been paid on the qualitative angle in the sense that were described the main actions by which have had as central point the continuity of academic activities without the breaking of communications in the form top-down between the general manager and students. Background: Studies on bibliometrics and informetrics training have focused on teachers and curricular experts’ opinion, only a few studies have examined undergraduate students and practitioners’ perceptions. Objective: To understand how librarianship students and professionals perceive the bibliometrics and informetrics training delivered to them. Methods: For data collection, we used a survey with opened-ended questions, to know the genuine responses of the participants. After working with the automatic term extraction technique, for codifying the answers we employed a data dictionary for quantifying the frequency of occurrences. Hasty software development can produce immediate implementations with source code unnecessarily complex and hardly readable. These small kinds of software decay generate a technical debt that could be big enough to seriously affect future maintenance activities. This work presents an analysis technique for identifying architectural technical debt related to non-uniformity of naming patterns; the technique is based on term frequency over package hierarchies. The proposal has been evaluated on projects of two popular organizations, Apache and Eclipse. The results have shown that most of the projects have frequent occurrences of the proposed naming patterns, and using a graph model and aggregated data could enable the elaboration of simple queries for debt identification. The technique has features that favor its applicability on emergent architectures and agile software development.

El Panel de Monitoreo de Internet Móvil es una herramienta basado en Big Data que permite al OSIPTEL acceder a más de 150 millones de mediciones mensuales, en más de 600 distritos a nivel nacional, sobre los principales indicadores del servicio de internet móvil desde la perspectiva de la calidad de experiencia del usuario. En el presente reporte se analiza los principales indicadores en redes 4G, tales como velocidad promedio, latencia, tiempo de cobertura y pérdida de paquetes, a nivel departamental y nacional, para el mes de setiembre del año 2023.

The debate on public policies and regulations for digital platforms constitutes an urgent topic for communication sciences. This article aims to provide a theoretical-analytical approach to emerging dimensions in research on communication policies in platform capitalism in Latin America. The Global Capability Framework for Public Relations and Communication Management (Fawkes et at., 2018) is the first international proposal that applies the capability concept to the discipline in order to describe the scope and future potential of a global profession. A global framework with 11 capabilities is the result of an empirical research (Delphi, survey, interviews and focus groups) with more than 1.400 experts, scholars and practitioners, in nine countries of five continents (Argentina, Australia, Canada, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, UK and USA). Engagement has received a growing study within the Social Sciences until becoming the mainstream of public communication. The digital environments make possible to study their manifestation through symbolic behavior, publicly recorded, in the form of "Like", Share or Comment messages. However, it has been pointed out that its definition is in a state of refinement, so a synthesis was made based on a multidisciplinary state of issue, as well as a quantification of its evolution in the last 30 years, finding an increase of 1300 % in its academic use. This research evaluates the communication that the 60 accredited universities in Ecuador develop on their websites. The objective is to determine the importance they attach to interactive communication and to analyze whether there is association with institutional factors, with the position in world rankings and with the website traffic. Content analysis was used and a Web Communication Index –WCI– was created to identify the presence of communication management and the adoption of interactive channels in the portals; the Similar Web tool was also used.
