In this paper, the role played by the category of singularity of body parts that are pairs or multiple in Andean culture is explained. First, methodologically, the information was collected by interview. Second, the data obtained were systematized according to the functioning of natural logic and thought in the Andean worldview. Third, body parts were analyzed according to parity and multiplicity, including the elements of nature. Finally, the results showed that, when it refers to parts of the body that are pairs or that are considerated to be conformed by more than two entities, the singular number is assigned in the Andean cognitive semantics. In addition, some elements of nature were also marked with singular number, such as flower petals, farm potatoes and a pair of oxen.

This essay aims to identify the scriptural and semantic variations and linguistic processes in the morphosyntax of the terms quniraya, kumirraya, kuniraya, quñiraya, quniraya, -iraya. Corpora concerning quniraya were identified in Hispanic chronicles, 16th-century colonial dictionaries, and both historical and contemporary documents, which were then organized and compared to examine the writing, the processes that occurred within the word, and ultimately to determine its semantics. For this purpose, a textual record was utilized. After identification, the processes were analyzed and explained to verify phenomena such as syncope, fricativization, velarization, palatalization, suppression, apheresis, and pronunciation, among others. From these explanations, it can be concluded that these processes led to the loss of the word's sememe, but reconstructing the morphosyntactic structure and t...

This paper is a descriptive-explanatory investigation of Peruvian seafood lexicons. This article has two objectives: the first is to select and record the semantic features that make up the immanent and manifested meaning of Peruvian seafood lexicons; the second is to rank the lexicons according to semantic inclusion relations based on lexical fields. To do this, we use a descriptive structuralist methodology where we select and register a corpus of 30 names of Peruvian seafood extracted from Peruvian recipe books and gastronomic dictionaries and then group and describe them in minimal pairs that allow us to select the similar and differentiating semantic features; we also hierarchise the lexical fields found to account for the semantic relations of inclusion. In this way, we are able to determine the semantic features that allow us to transfer lexemes from a common language to a special...

This paper studies the resemantization and meaning determination of the Quechua terms chaka, chakana and chakata. The research focuses on the explanation of the morphological structure. In the procedure we start from the work of the Lexicon of 1560 where we find the term chakata with the meaning of cross. The philological-hermeneutic method and the use of Quechua dictionaries were chosen for the work. As a result of the analysis, the term chakata has chaka as lexeme, which indicates the base element that makes «X» elements cross. Chakana would be the object with which the entities are crossed. Finally, the word chakata, agglutinates the suffix -ta with meaning ‘inter’ or ‘between’, being the word as a whole chakatay ‘to cross’. In conclusion, chakata would mean ‘inter-cross-’; in a philosophical sense, it forms the basis that intertwines, «X» elements within nature an...

Natural Semantic Networks, as methodological tools, allow us to recover an understand the meanings that certain groups have with respect to a given social object. In this sense, teachers are the study population in topics that became relevant in the face of the ravages caused by the pandemic on emotional well-being, such as the importance of developing and putting into practice socio-emotional skills in the different areas where it is developed. The purpose of this document is to carry out a systematic descriptive theoretical review, from 1981 to 2022, of original studies carried out in Latin América, with a qualitative approach, on the relevance of Natural Semantic Networks as a methodological strategy to approach the meaning that teachers of socioemotional competencies. It is concluded that, until now, the use of Natural Semantic Networks does not exist to recover meanings of socio-em...

The layered architecture of the World Wide Web (W3C) defines standards, technologies, languages, and methods needed to build applications that involve the semantic web. From this W3C semantic web architecture was developed the data modeling of the ELLAS (Equality in Leadership for Latin American STEM) network platform. The ELLAS aims to map the policies and context aspects that influence women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in the countries of Bolivia, Brazil and Peru, which are at different levels of development. The main objective of this work is a comparison of the main storage and semantic integration tools to develop a data model (modeling, storage and integration of data) related to the mapping of policies, initiatives and factors that influence the career development of women in STEM.

In this article we analyze the semantics of the "regional society", which has been established as a widely spread assumption to the conceptualization of the social specificity of Latin America. This semantics considers that geographical and spatial limits are significant for the delimitation of social realities. In this way, it allows us to distinguish between internal and external realities, recognizing their simultaneous value for understanding the social dynamics that unfold in the region. Indeed, it is possible to reconstruct the diversity of theorizations about Latin America as alternative ways in which the links between the internal and the external have been conceived. The paper seeks to develop these hypotheses, while advancing in the evaluation of the theoretical and empirical limits of the semantics. We conclude about the need to move towards a non-regionalist concept of societ...

In this article are analyzed the linguistic expressions of the colloquial Spanish of Lima in which men and women are conceptualized as animals. It studies the polysemy and metaphor of the zoomorphisms cerdo, lobo, perro and zorro, and their respective feminine forms. This is a qualitative research with a descriptive scope. The cognitive mechanism of metaphor, the extended version of the Prototype Theory (Lakoff, 1980, 1987) and the Frame Theory (Fillmore, 1982) are used in the analysis, all of which allow the detailing of the cognitive and cultural motivations that condition a certain social group to express itself in that way. Finally, new senses were identified in each zoomorphism, showing that words are prone to variation, which is determined by the use of the speakers, especially among the younger generations.

This paper introduces an analysis of metaphor as a cognitive semantic procedure in the work Nunaypa rurun: frutos del alma (1993) by the Cusco poet and anthropologist Delia Blanco Villafuerte. This analysis is framed within Cognitive Linguistics, which explains the construction of concepts through the existing relationship between language, thought and human experience, whose achievement is the structuring of abstract concepts in domains more concrete and closer to experience.

This research proposes the description and analysis of the Peruvian political discourse through the cognitive semantics approach. It is based on a selection of expressions, related to the concept of corruption, used in the discourse of the well-known Peruvian politician Luis Fernando Olivera Vega. Methodologically, the expressions were extracted from the first and second segments of the presidential debate held in April 2016; from the "VI International Anti-Corruption Conference" organized by the Contraloría General de la República and from the press conference held around the presentation of the controversial audios of the convicted former presidential advisor Vladimiro Montesinos Torres regarding the presidential elections in June 2021. The article concludes that Olivera is yet another case of an emerging discourse of protest against corruption in Peru, where Olivera embodies the ide...

The pursuit of happiness is one of the most coveted goals of human beings. There are increasingly more psychology studies seeking to find which factors are involved in happiness. There are two main approaches to this study: the hedonic and the eudaemonic paradigms. The hedonic paradigm proposes that well-being depends primarily on living a life with pleasant experiences, while the eudaemonic paradigm refers that well-being is not only achieved through pleasure, but mainly through upgrading the human potential. In the present study we worked with a sample consisting of 340 citizens of Cordoba (Argentina) to investigate which conceptions they have about happiness by the technique of Natural Semantic Networks (NSN). Two hypotheses were proposed in this regard: 1) participants will conceive happiness both in hedonic and eudaemonic terms, and 2) those participants with higher levels of happin...

At some point in their lives, people wonder about the meaning of their first and last names. However, few get to know it, since many of these come from an original language; which, over time, lost their meaning and originality, due to contact between languages and cultures. Therefore, this article analyzes from the anthroponymic approach the transformations that have occurred at the phonological, semantic or morphological level in Aymara surnames; For this, the written documentation method is used, since it uses] research carried out on Aymara surnames. In this sense, the article concludes that the surnames that underwent phonological, morphological and semantic transformations, due to the substitution of stop phonemes for simple phonemes, the substitution of Aymara phonemes for Spanish phonemes and the addition of phonemes, which caused the loss of its meaning and originality.

The objective of this research was to establish the relationship between the understanding of semantic relationships and the level of preference in learning styles. A non-experimental descriptive correlational design is used, the data collection instruments were the CHAEA and the ECLE-3, the sample consisted of 134 first grade high school students. The results indicate that there is a significant (p<0.01) and weak (rho=0.334) relationship between the understanding of semantic relationships and the level of preference of the reflective style, as well as a significant (p<0.01) and weak (rho=0.188) relationship between the understanding of semantic relations and the level of preference of theoretical style.

In this paper, the processes expressed with verbs of movement in Chanka Quechua, from the Ayacucho area, are briefly presented. Since Quechua is an agglutinative language, the aim of this paper is to analyze the function of suffixes from the semantic point of view. For this purpose, our theoretical framework is based on the contribution of cognitive semantics and on the relationship between semantics and grammar proposed by Moreno Cabrera (2003). The results of this work aim to classify and determine how the suffixes -man, -manta, -kama and -ta act in sentence constructions of movement.
