BRACKISH WATER IS AN IMPORTANT SOURCE OF WATER RESOURCES WITH LOWER SALT CONTENT THAN SEAWATER. DESALINATION IS A VERY IMPORTANT TREATMENT TO REMEDY THE SCARCITY OF FRESH WATER THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. IN THIS WORK, IT HAS BEEN PROPOSED TO DESALINATE BRACKISH GROUNDWATER USING A COMMERCIAL NANOFILTRATION MEMBRANE. THE EXPERIMENTS WERE CARRIED OUT ON THE BASIS OF A FACTORIAL DESIGN USING THREE FACTORS AND TWO LEVELS OF STUDY FOR EACH VARIABLE. FOR THIS PURPOSE, IT SELECTED THE FEED PRESSURE (X1) OF THE MEMBRANE MODULE AT (60 AND 100 PSI), FEED WATER SALINITY (X2) AT LEVELS OF (3.4 AND 6.01 MS/CM) AND OPERATING TEMPERATURE (X3) AT LEVELS (20 AND 28 °C) TO EVALUATE ITS EFFECT ON THE PERCENTAGE FLUX RECOVERY AND SALT RETENTION. A LARGE PART OF THE WORLD'S POPULATION IS SUPPLIED WITH DRINKING WATER FROM SUBWAY SOURCES. DURING THE LAST FEW YEARS, GROUNDWATER NITRATE CONCENTRATIONS HAVE INCREASED CONSIDERABLY. THIS WORK PROPOSES THE REMOVAL OF NITRATES FROM BRACKISH GROUNDWATER AND A MODEL SOLUTION BY ELECTRODIALYSIS. TO EVALUATE THEIR EFFECT ON NITRATE REMOVAL AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION, THREE FACTORS WERE SELECTED WITH THREE LEVELS FOR EACH: NITRATE ION CONCENTRATION (50, 200 AND 500 MG/L), APPLIED ELECTRICAL POTENTIAL (5, 10 AND 15 V) AND FEED FLOW ARRANGEMENT (A, B AND C). THE RESULTS SHOWED THAT THE MOST INFLUENTIAL VARIABLE WAS THE ELECTRICAL POTENTIAL, THE INCREASE OF THE POTENTIAL (15 V) LED TO A CONSIDERABLE INCREASE IN NITRATE REMOVAL (92.5 %). This study delves into the examination of internal flow characteristics within closed (with nozzles) and open-end pressure-swirl atomizers (lacking nozzles). The number of inlet channels “n” and the opening parameter “C” were manipulated in this study, as they play a pivotal role in understanding various atomizer attributes, such as uniformity of the air-core diameter, the discharge coefficient, spray angle, and more, all of which hold significance in the design of bipropellant atomizers for liquid rocket engines (LREs). Semiconductor-insulator interfaces play an important role in the performance of many different electronic and optoelectronic devices such as transistors, LEDs, lasers and solar cells. Particularly, the recombination of photo-generated charge carriers at interfaces in crystalline silicon solar cells causes a dramatic efficiency reduction. Therefore, during the fabrication process, the crystalline silicon must be subjected to prior superficial passivation; typically through an insulating layer such as SiO2, SiNx or AlOx. The function of this passivating layer is to reduce electrical recombination losses in interfacial defect states originating from dangling bonds. This study explores the intestinal microbiota of eight 18-month-old male alpacas from two distinct high-altitude regions in Peru: the Wet Puna (4200 m above sea level) and the Dry Puna (4900 m above sea level). Using 16S rRNA and 18S rRNA metabarcoding, microbial communities of bacteria, archaea, fungi, and protists were analyzed from the first compartment of the stomach (C1) to investigate the diversity, taxonomic composition, and correlations with hematological parameters. Significant differences in microbial diversity and composition were observed between regions, driven by dietary and environmental factors. The Wet Puna exhibited greater alpha diversity in bacterial and fungal communities, while beta diversity highlighted distinct microbial compositions.
