Currently, we live in a new era of minimally invasive surgery. Operations are more like video games thantraditional open surgeries. The old-fashioned expression that “a good surgery requires a large incision”has been completely abandoned in countries where medical technology and research are well structured.Within the modern minimally invasive surgeries over the last 30 years, laparoscopic surgery is the mostwell established and recognized approach. However, with development of advanced technologiesand intense research, robotic surgery has emerged in the last decade as an attractive alternative tolaparoscopic surgery. The article analyzes the main problems and contradictions in the formation of legal regimes for the regulation of robotics, artificial intelligence and other innovative technologies of our time. Objective: The effects of an online prevention program on technological addictions and cognitive-affective dispositions in university students during the COVID-19 pandemic were evaluated. Methods: Forty-two students participated in the sample, of which 21 formed the experimental group (EG) and the other 21 students the control group (CG). Academic efficacy and academic engagement scales were used, as well as cell phone, internet and video game addiction tests. Medical education is at a turning point due to the rapid advances in biomedical technology and robotics in rehabilitation. This editorial examines the importance of integrating these innovations into medical curricula, highlighting statistics on medical education in Latin America and Peru, and discusses the challenges and opportunities for improving the training of future health professionals. In the 21st century, technology is redefining medicine and, consequently, medical education. Biomedical technology and robotics in rehabilitation offer new tools to enhance teaching and clinical practice. Currently, with the advance of science, more and more basic disciplines are associated with surgery exerting some influence and giving rise to the concept of Medical-Surgical Science. Besides that, surgery has evolved in paralel with immunology (in the field of transplants), interventional radiology and diagnostic-therapeutic endoscopy. Indeed, many of changes in surgery, such as the use of new diagnostic tools, approaches with shorter incisions, and the colaboration -still in an evaluative periodof robots as surgeon's assistants, are consequences of these technological improvements. Recently, Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabling technologies have been associated with great sources of competitive advantage. Among such technologies, current Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is considered one of the most promising Artificial Intelligence (AI) implementation strategies. On one hand, we argue that the so far limited academic research on the literature sees RPA as an important tool at the tactical and operational levels.
