We prepared and implemented a program to increase the protective factors mentioned and have an indirect influence on the suicide risk or other problems associated with unsatisfied needs found. Using One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design, the effect of the program (8 sessions with students and one with the staff of the school) was evaluated in 25 students who attended all workshops. This research shows the results of the research developed, whose objective was to design a knowledge management model for the Huánuco SFPQW. The research was divided into two phases: the first qualitative, which allowed developing the proposed conceptual model and the second quantitative, which empirically confirmed the conceptual model. It was analyzed through case studies in 3 areas of the SFPQW with semi-structured interviews addressed to the bosses of mentioned areas, also through direct observation and documentation of the SFPQW. It was explored empirically the way through which workers employed the knowledge management and through this was developed the model divided in three phases: the generation, transfer and integration of knowledge. The conceptual model obtained was empirically contrasted using a population of 19 collaborators from different areas; the Chi square statistical ...

In Costa Rica, before 2016 the subject of statistics was not included in the national high school tests in Mathematics. As of 2016, the test, consisting of 60 items, includes 9 statistical items. On the other hand, teachers in their lessons usually use traditional expository methods, mediated by the use of a blackboard and printed materials. In this context, a need to create and implement new teaching techniques in this area was evident, for which a Multimedia Instructional Unit in Statistics was developed and applied through the eXeLearning technological tool. The instructional unit was applied to a group of 30 students belonging to the high school diploma for adults program from the region of Turrialba in Costa Rica. We used a qualitative, interpretive and naturalistic method based on the generation of analysis categories. It was determined that a simple way to show the information and...

Background: Several risk factors for noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), including obesity, are associated with behaviors established in infancy that persist throughout adolescence and adulthood. As such, adolescents should be engaged in the design and implementation of NCD prevention strategies. Community Context: In Lima, Peru’s capital, the proportion of adolescents aged 15 to 19 is 9.3% of the city’s population, and school enrollment rates are high. The prevalence of excess weight in Peruvian adolescents is 14.2%, and prevalence has not declined in recent years. Also recently, NCDs and their risk factors have gained more attention in public health and policy areas, with regulatory action focusing on healthful nutrition to address obesity and related NCDs. The Multiplicadores Jóvenes (Young Multipliers) project was conducted among adolescents aged 15 to 17 from 9 public secondary sc...

The teaching of human parasitology is essential for students of health sciences, especially medicine, because it is a major global public health problem―occurring with high frequency in low-income countries―and because of its presence in countries considered developed. In this sense, it is estimated that worldwide there are 2,800 million individuals infected with soil-transmitted helminths, 20 to 30% people infected with Toxoplasma gondii, 300 to 500 million new cases of malaria per year, and nearly 15 million Latin Americans with Chagas disease, an infection caused by Trypanosoma cruzi. This narrative review article analyzes information available in digital repositories on aspects of the traditional educational program of human or medical parasitology using descriptors or keywords closely related to the topic. The reviewed articles were mainly those published in peer-reviewed, index...

Over the last ten years, the Peruvian conditional transfer program, Juntos, has expanded significantly. The objective of this program is to promote school attendance, reduce child labor, and monitor the growth and development of children in impoverished areas. Although improvements in these indicators have been appreciated, there may be unforeseen impacts on the households receiving the transfers. In this study, we focus on the program’s impact on the working hours of women in recipient households. According to the standard theory (Becker, 1965), transfers could reduce the labor supply by assuming leisure to be a normal good. According to theories of family economics, transfers to one member can affect the allocation of resources to all members of the household (Chiappori, 1992). The international empirical literature is inconclusive, pointing to non-existent, negative, and even positi...

Digital badges are visual representations of a skill, ability or knowledge acquired by a person. Their practical usefulness is to grant these features visibility through broadcasting on online platforms, in addition to storing and publishing evidence and data about the depicted achievement. This new technology is capable of transforming accreditation and evaluation processes for educational and corporate contexts, by providing specific information participants performance in training or work related activities. An exploratory review of sixteen digital badge projects applied in continuing professional education programs was carried out. Details on the design trends and results of these projects were published in twenty documents registered in Scopus and Web of Science. It was determined that the most used design principles were those related to the recognition and evaluation of competence...

In Peru, the COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on various dimensions of human and national development. While it is true that children have not been affected in terms of mortality, there is evidence of a negative impact on their development in the short and long term. In this sense, in Peru, timely and quality care through access to the integrated package of services of the Ministry of Health was severely affected, reducing its coverage and generating risk scenarios for the physical, emotional and mental development of children in the future. In this context, the State promoted temporary interventions through Emergency Decree 095-2020, includin interventions aimed at early childhood development through the National Program of Direct Support to the Poorest “JUNTOS”. This article aims to examine the implementation of these interventions by “JUNTOS”, analyze the challenges and res...

The criminal process is built upon the Constitution. Its legal regulation is not independent but arises inevitably from the fundamental norm of the State. It is precisely within this instrument that the general framework of principles is established, from which the specific rules governing the criminal process in a nation are derived. This theoretical core is referred to in Hispanic-American doctrine as the Procedural Criminal Program of the Constitution, and in Portuguese doctrine as the Procedural Criminal Constitution. It emerged in the 1980s, coinciding with the paradigm shift brought by the Spanish Constitution of 1978, and was later debated in Peru with the 1993 Constitution. In this context, it is logical that there are no research studies aimed at analyzing the historical procedural criminal program in national constitutions. Thus, this manuscript seeks to explore part of the pro...
