The aim of this paper is to analyze the international problem of cultural appropriation in the audiovisual industry during the last twenty years, from a sociological and legal perspective, and its linkage with intellectual property rights. It will start from a conceptualization of the term and then delimit its analysis towards traditional cultural expressions and their various forms of protection in the international arena. The economic numbers of the film industry will be known and then the study will focus on the various components of cultural appropriation in films, both in the extrapatrimonial aspects (negative representations, stereotypes, and discriminatory behaviors) and in the patrimonial aspects (unauthorized exploitation and undue economic exploitation of collective rights). This research work aims to develop a tool to identify employees who might abandon their position, because job abandonment is considered an international problem. The proposed method consists of a genetic algorithm that allows identifying the significant variables and improving the architecture of an artificial neural network as a solution. The variables selected by the tool were similar to those collected from different studies but not all of them were considered in such studies (e.g., distance between home and workplace, and years of employment). Likewise, the variables and architecture selected by the tool allowed to predict job abandonment up to 88.92 % accuracy rate.

In Latin America, water governance is facing the problem of rising demand for water resources, increased hydrological variability in a context of climate change, proliferating contamination and thus —in general— increasing scarcity of water in terms of quantity, quality, and opportunity. This creates competition and conflicts among stakeholders. The issue coincides with the urgent international problem of concentration of land, which is heavily intertwined with the concentration of water in the hands of the few. The paper presents the results of a study of the relation between parental psychological control and the internalized and externalized problems of a group of 170 adolescents (58.2 % males), between the ages of 13 and 17, from a private school in Lima, Peru. The Dependency-Oriented and Achievement-Oriented Psychological Control Scale (DapCS-S) and the Youth Self Report (ySR) inventory were used. Findings showed a positive and significant correlation between Achievement-Oriented Parental Psychological Control (apC) and Dependency-Oriented Parental Psychological Control (DpC) and the internalized and externalized problems. Results also showed that the maternal DpC and the paternal apC explain significantly the adolescents’ internalized problems. On the other hand, the maternal and paternal DpC explain significantly the adolescents’ criminal conduct.

We drew on health behavior theories to predict health-protective (coping-specific) responses and hope (coping non-specific response) from health-related cognitions (vulnerability, severity, self-assessed knowledge, efficacy). Objective: To assess the mental health of children and adolescents in connection with virtual education during the COVID-19 pandemic in Peru, using the PSC-17 scale. Materials and methods: Schoolchildren completed the Peruvian version of the PSC-17 through telephone calls or video calls between November 2021 and January 2022. The Chi-square test was used to evaluate the difference in the distribution of psychosocial problems between groups, and binary logistic regression to explore the possibly associated risk factors. Statistical analysis was performed through SPSS 22.0. La presente investigación tuvo por objetivo analizar la relación entre autoestima, claridad de autoconcepto y salud mental en un grupo de adolescentes de Lima Metropolitana. Para ello, se aplicaron la Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg (RSES), la Escala de Claridad de Autoconcepto (SCCS) y el Inventario de Problemas Conductuales (YSR) a 355 participantes (204 varones y 151 mujeres) entre 14 y 17 años. Los resultados obtenidos muestran diferencias significativas según sexo. Las adolescentes puntúan menos en autoestima y más en problemas de internalización que los varones, asimismo se han nivelado con ellos en comportamientos problemas globales. La claridad de autoconcepto es más relevante para los varones que para las mujeres en las escalas sindrómicas, y es clave en problemas externalizados para ambos sexos.
