This study aimed to compare the perception of gifted and non-gifted students with respect to the climate for creativity in the classroom, in the disciplines of Mathematics and Portuguese Language, and to investigate the relationship between creativity and perception of classroom climate for creativity. Twenty-one gifted and 27 non-gifted 6th grade students who attended a public school in Brazil participated in the study. The gifted students evaluated teacher’s support to the students’ expression of ideas in Mathematics in a more satisfactory way compared to non-gifted, and they also showed greater interest in learning Mathematics in comparison to Portuguese Language. A positive correlation between creativity and perception of classroom climate was found for gifted students, and negative correlation for non-gifted students.

This article is about faith and religious beliefs, their meaning and the rational possibility of religious fact. Arguments are raised and discussed for and against the act of faith. The possibility and characteristics of the act of faith are described and the appropriate and inadequate positions before the Absolute are analyzed. Reason and faith are the two wings with the human spirit rising towards the contemplation of the truth. The conclusion is that "Hidden God" might only be known through the experience of personal faith --Nihil intelligitur nisi diligitur-- (you only understand what you love) by Saint Augustine.

The moral value of life requires an adequate perspective, because in today's culture it tends to be perceived in relation to other realities, so it is reduced. This happens when it is measured from the reality of the cosmos as a part of it in a way that is almost insignificant, it is about cosmological reductionism. Also when human life is valued from the social appreciation that is pronounced from its functionality or efficiency, it is sociological reductionism. From these two visions it is affirmed that there are worthless lives that could be eliminated. Everything changes when we enter the logic of the gift, as the original light that sustains the meaning of life in the intentionality of the donor. We have to see human life as born of an original love and directed to love. It is the way to break the previous reductionisms and introduce a dialogic mode to discover the real meaning of h...

Traditional methods of schooling can fail to bring about schools as places for developing the broadest and richest experiences for creating talent in the young. The field of gifted education has put forward many innovations that have become mainstays of the American educational system. The Schoolwide Enrichment Model comprises strategies for increasing student effort, enjoyment, and performance, and for integrating a range of advanced-level learning experiences and thinking skills into all curricular areas. Every school has students within it who possess the highest potential for advanced-level learning, creative problem solving, and the motivation to pursue rigorous and rewarding work. Rather than being sources for the acquisition of information, schools should be places for developing the talents of all students.

This descriptive research examines the performance on reading comprehension of four gifted adolescents participating in a reading enrichment program. This performance is related to the variables associated to the gifted performance following the model developed by Mönks: motivation, creativity, high ability, school, peers and family. Results showed that school does not satisfy the cognitive needs of these students and it does not offer the required social support either. The family provides the main social support. The motivation, creativity, the high level of language and concentration of the participants facilitate learning. The reading program is described by the participants as motivating due to the subject-matters and methodology; furthermore, due to the opportunity to deal with peers who have a similar cognitive level.

The objective of this thesis was to evaluate the productive performance of genetically improved tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) strains (GIFT) and not GIFT, in the San Martín Region, specifically in the facilities of the aquaculture company "GENETIKA", the field work was It took place between August 18 and September 29, 2022; We worked with two groups of males of the GIFT tilapia strain, assigned as treatments 2 and 3 (Group A = T3 and Group B = T2); while the NO GIFT strain corresponded to treatment 1 (T=1). 288 units of tilapia in the fattening stage were used, distributed in three Hapas for each treatment under a completely randomized design (DCA); The average weights gained show a significant difference between treatments 1 and 2; and 1 and 3 for a decision level of 1% error (p < 0.01). The “F” obtained with respect to the final weight were significant (p < 0.004), by the Tukey ...

The world has become increasingly complex. Curriculum methods for the gifted are likewise. Extracted from these seminal and ongoing curriculum approaches are six rules based on best practices and research from our field, which can be grasped easily and applied by teachers anywhere. When teachers work from a set of principles they can adapt to needs of students and support growth, regardless of context. Using principles strengthens teaching and supports gifted students, and perhaps all students. The six principles include: a) focus on unique pattern of strengths, b) group students by interests or abilities at least part of the time, c) move as far and as fast in the basic skills as possible, d) enrich individual interests, e) offer mediation, counseling, mentoring and facilitation, and f) provide the tools for life-long learning.

This paper analyzes acceleration in education as a practice for meeting the educational needs of gifted students, and points out favorable and unfavorable arguments on the use of this practice. Acceleration is an educational practice consisting of several teaching strategies designed to encourage academically gifted students and reduce their time spent in school. It promotes faster learning by matching the curriculum to the student’s level of knowledge, interest and motivation. There are several arguments in favor of acceleration, such as the improvement of academic performance, self-esteem and student’s social adjustment. However, educators are reluctant to implement this practice, arguing that students may be immature or lose part of the content of the regular curriculum.

Perfectionism has been investigated related to the consequences to mental health it might entail for gifted students and their socioemotional development. However, findings have been inconclusive. This exploratory study aims to discover the main characteristics of adaptive and maladaptive perfectionism in gifted Chilean secondary students. For this purpose,  extreme cases were found using Frost´s Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale to subsequently conduct semi-structured interviews with a sample of four students. Results pointed to parental and societal expectations as the main aspects involved in the development of perfectionism, which sheds light on how to support the manifestation of perfectionism both in educational and clinical realms.

A number of students in our schools possess learning abilities and specialized talents to such degree that their educational needs cannot be met in a regular school program. Special educational programs for the gifted and talented are an essential part of any school program which recognizes and respects individual differences among its pupils. The philosophy which guides our proposal is based on the belief that: (1) each child is a unique human being who possesses individual educational needs and abilities; and (2) it is the responsibility of our schools, first to identify those needs and abilities and then, to provide the educational experiences for meeting individual needs and developing each child's abilities to the fullest degree.

This article discusses the generative elements of the project Camasca, a scenic gift in Amantaní (2024), starting from proposing the validity of the concepts of theater, aesthetics and epistemology when accounting for performative discourses present in festivities, rituals and similar, in the Andean world. The article at the same time discusses the Andean notions present in the original play, Camasca, as well as the function and value of oracles both in the past and as a veiled presence in our days. The text aims to share the general approach that the producers decided to put into practice, and it advances some theoretical conclusions about the Project.
