The disasters that alter the social development are of two types: natural and social. Ricardo Palma registered both types phenomenons in his Peruvian Traditions and also in his epistles. This article examines disasters caused by the man or anthropics in the work of Palma. For this inquiry, we have selected the tradition “Los Caballeros de la Capa. Crónica de una guerra civil” which deals with an event that marked the destiny of Peru: the war between Francisco Pizarro and Diego de Almagro.

Through millions years of earth planet evolution have produced natural phenomenons such as earthquakes, huaycos, floods and many natural phenomenons. Is with the man’s presence that appear the natural disasters and they affect their socio-economic activities and their themselves environment. The natural disasters bring environmental dysfunctions, because they contaminate the soil, water, destroys part of the flora and fauna and almost always create focuses of infections and others, affecting the man’s habitat. In the present work it develops an environmental study of the Cantuta - Chosica area and it culminates with the zoning of risks for effects of the huayco in the study area.

Disasters are large-scale events which are often unexpected. Usually more attention is paid to the material and physical consequences of disasters. However, interventions in disaster situations are incomplete if mental health issues are not addressed. This work aims to review the psychosocial consequences associated with a disaster, including mental health problems such as post-traumatic stress disorders, depressive disorders, psychoactive substance abuse, etc., and the psychosocial consequences in the family structure, highlighting the possible risk factors related to their presentation. The intervention strategies are varied and depend on the time, the person and the level of action. This paper analyzes the case of the Brumadinho disaster, occurred in Brazil in 2019, which caused the death of 272 people, in addition to serious environmental damage. The Brazilian collective process system, formed predominantly by public institutions, responds with the prompt prosecution of collective actions, which resulted, in a period of two years, in three collective agreements. This article analyzes, through bibliographical research and primary data, the elements of the Brazilian collective litigation model that contributed to the success of the case and how they could serve as inspiration for other countries.

The paper proposes a Plan of Prevention of Disasters based on a final product: a map – image of vulnerability that was gotten using the digital cartography from a satellite image “IKONOS”. That map – image has permitted the location of vulnerable areas in case of earthquakes taking into consideration the slopes and the building type and use. A study area located at the north of Lima, the District of Los Olivos, was chosen.

In 2016, the MDR approve Rehabilitation Plan for Disaster Risk in Rimac district. -In 2016, there is a fire in the community of Cantagallo in the district of Rimac. 300 families of the Shipibo-Coniba community are affected, who receive the support from the Municipality of Rimac and the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima. -The Disaster Risk Management employees in Rimac district spend five years to elaborate a rehabilitation plan. We present the effects of disasters on mental health from a gender perspective, considering thatwomen are more vulnerable because they are more prone to damage, loss and suffering in thecontext of different threats, and generally also have less opportunity to access to material and socialresources. It also evidences how women assume various roles: as a victim, as the organizer ofremedial actions and in the prevention, mitigation and management of disasters. Finally it emphasizesthe need to train and enhance the skills of women in the management of emergency situationsas active agents in the prevention within their homes and communities, protecting mental health.
