The paper addresses the mining conflict in Santa Ana (Puno) occurred in the first half of 2011. Describes the geographic and project owner. It also studies the origins of the conflict between authorities and residents of the districts of Huacullani and Kelluyo and the Canadian company Bear Greek. The test can show that the main causes of the conflict are the way in which the company acquires the concession and clientelistic relations established with some communities and partnerships with certain political actors between the state, business and communities also on environmental impact study, and finally there is an account of the major events that occur between the start of the indefinite strike until the final outcome of it.

Content describes and tries to explain the most important facts that show environmental pollution in that place in a period of approximately thirty (30) years, from the 80s of the twentieth century to the present. Limitations of time and financial resources have hindered a more detailed study; also the state and the mining company does not provide access to transparent information in relation to the environmental problem.

This article is about the Tia Maria mining project ( PMTM ) Company Southern Copper Corporation (Group Mexico). The subject is vast and complex; for this reason and because of space limitations here only the reasons that generated protests from residents of Valle de Tambo (VDT) develops. Este artículo trata sobre el Proyecto Minero Tía María (PMTM) de la empresa Southern Copper Corporation (Grupo México). El tema es amplio y complejo; por esta razón y por limitaciones de espacio aquí solo se desarrolla las razones que generaron las protestas de los pobladores del Valle de Tambo (VDT). Se ha seleccionado, entre otros, los subtemas siguientes: estudio de impacto ambiental, agua, agricultura, dirección de los vientos, instalaciones mineras, talleres y audiencias públicas, finalmente la herencia negativa de la Southern.

La protesta social fue breve pero intensa; tanto que el gobierno tuvo que declarar el estado de emergencia y tomar una serie de medidas para evitar el escalamiento del conflicto porque en esos días «Lima fue la capital económica del mundo». The work deals with the Business Social Responsibility (BSR) Xstrata Tintaya (XT). First the BSR concept is defined, then develops what the mining company XT done about counting the contributions of the Tintaya Foundation and the Tintaya Civil Association. Some critical comments on practices by CSR XT in the Tintaya mine since 2006 and recently (2012) in Antapaccay are presented.

El trabajo trata sobre la Responsabilidad Social Empresarial (RSE) de Xstrata Tintaya (XT). Primeramente se define el concepto RSE, luego se desarrolla lo que la empresa minera XT hace al respecto contando con los aportes de la Fundación Tintaya y la Asociación Civil Tintaya. Finalmente se presentan algunas críticas a la RSE que practica XT en la mina Tintaya desde el 2006 y recientemente (2012) en Antapaccay.
