We present the effects of disasters on mental health from a gender perspective, considering thatwomen are more vulnerable because they are more prone to damage, loss and suffering in thecontext of different threats, and generally also have less opportunity to access to material and socialresources. It also evidences how women assume various roles: as a victim, as the organizer ofremedial actions and in the prevention, mitigation and management of disasters. Finally it emphasizesthe need to train and enhance the skills of women in the management of emergency situationsas active agents in the prevention within their homes and communities, protecting mental health.

This is a pilot research study to identify some psychosocial factors associated with the criminal conduct, present in the life stories of 50 women, imprisoned in a Women Jail of Lima for having committed three criminal acts modalities: 8 for homicide, 12 for robbery, and 30  for drug dealing, with backgrounds of having suffered at least 10 years of family violence. As the investigation is part of a more extensive study on family violence and women ‘criminal conduct modality.

Child sexual abuse is considered one of the child maltreatment ways. The basic criteria for this typifying are also established. According to the Finkelhor and Krugman model, the conditions for its occurrence are explained. Indicators for assessing, protecting or compensating and for risk or potentiating factors are proposed by the Program of Sensibilization and Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse (Save the Children), Finally, the measures to prevent protective factors for sexual abuse strengthening in children and their families are established.

There are programs for men who exert violence in couple relations with women, in the Anglo-Saxon and Scandinavian world (United States, Canada, Sweden, Australia) since more than thirty years ago and eighteen years ago in the Hispanic world ( Argentina, Mexico). This article makes some recommendations on how to raise the exploratory interviews with children who have experienced family violence and / or sexual abuse. Also it provides a set of guidelines to avoid victimization by operators of health care services. The text states that the overall objective of the interview with the boy or girl is getting to share their emotions, their needs and fears and to express the violence that has suffered. Relatively few studies conducted outside the United States, Canada and Europe that have examined the associations between alcohol use and intimate partner violence. And these studies have focused on the relationship between alcohol consumption by men and violence in them towards their partners.
