In Peru, the discovery of Machu Picchu has proved to be a bone of contention ever since Hiram Bingham first climbed the mountain and reached the Inca settlement. The dispute between Yale University and the Peruvian government over the possession of the archaeological artefacts which Bingham «temporarily» removed from Peru only soured the discussion further. The centennial of Bingham’s «discovery» saw both parties finally reach a settlement, as well as the publication of several books which either study these archaeological materials or explore Bingham’s life and work. Ninguna mina peruana ejemplifica mejor el ambivalente historial del sector de la MAPE como La Rinconada. Situada en el departamento de Puno, a 5 mil 200 metros sobre el nivel del mar, La Rinconada es el asentamiento humano permanente más elevado del mundo. El acceso al empleo, sin embargo, es extremadamente peculiar. En lugar de salarios, rige un contrato de trabajo verbal denominado «cachorreo», según el cual los trabajadores prestan sus servicios a favor de un contratista u operador sin pago alguno durante 28 días, seguido de dos días durante los cuales pueden quedarse con el concentrado de mineral que extraen de los socavones. Christopher Nolan's cinema highlights, among other aspects, a staging in which the spaces of representation (sets and natural scenes), cinematographic time (narrative time and time of history) and the identity of the characters are presented to the audience in a synchronic and fragmented style, like pieces of a puzzle on a table. This article aims to establish a connection between that narrative formula, which breaks the classical chronological and linear structure, and the consolidation after 11S of a philosophy of "love for the fragment" (Rella, 1998: 38), based on the different drifts of the Hegelian idealism, which challenges the belief in an absolute and unitary reason, in particular in the subjects related to the individual and the memory. The right to be forgotten has become a matter of capital importance, as a consequence of the impact that the Internet is having on the privacy of citizens. In this context, this article analyzes the different forms of protection of this emerging right in codified systems and common law systems, in order to account for the different realities that are being created in both continents, where the aim is to balance the right to information with the right to be forgotten in an era where digital memory does not forget or forgive.

Observing the transformations articulated in society, culture and communication, with an emphasis on the expanded use of digital platforms in the subjects’ daily lives, this paper seeks to present central theoretical premises to categorize the notion of platformized intellectual in contrast with the presence of digital influencers in social media. Starting mainly from the theoretical framework developed by Antonio Gramsci to define the intellectual and his political praxis, we discuss the characteristics of this subject and his field of action in a platformized society. Based on a theoretical debate and an exploratory documentary research, we discuss the potential, limitations and strategies of intellectual activity in a platformized society seeing how their creations work as a form political education.

Social networking sites have had a significant impact on politics and democracy. They can bring about positive changes that contribute to establishing a more effective and complete democracy. In this study, we investigate the relationship between social networks and democratic effectiveness in Latin American countries. We conducted a quantitative and inferential statistical analysis using representative surveys from2023 to demonstrate that the internet and social networks have a notable impact on the democratization process of these countries. Our study challenges the hypothesis proposed by Lipset that a nation’s economic prosperity contributes to strengthening democracy.

In this speech by Isaiah Bowman, we are shown as a recognized classic reference of the North American school of geography and its relationship with Latin America, where Bowman manifests the great importance that maps play in guiding politics and also in the realization of economic activities, since the map is a technical instrument and not a mere attractive illustration, transcending a simple use as a war instrument where information is power, therefore it is key. Bowman performs a characterization analysis on the official cartography of Peru, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia and Brazil, places that he visited thanks to the Yale University expeditions between 1907 and 1913. It is common for media messages to show the family since the crisis that this institution is experiencing. It is often conceived not as the place where the person is loved on his own, but as the "power struggles" between his members, especially between woman and man. With the documentary method - bibliographic study - of the conceptual analysis, this paper seeks to clarify some essential elements of the relationships within the family -in order to contribute to a better communication of the family reality- specifically those related to woman and man. This paper offers the results of a content analysis on how Spanish media are using the 360º video feature. Unlike other conventional ways of storytelling, this new modality provides the viewer with a sensation of being really present in a reality that is only being represented, which favors a deeper and more meaningful understanding of it. The study consists of a sample of 147 360º video features produced by 19 Spanish media between January 2015 and December 2017. The results confirm a slight increase in the number of publications in 2017 and a preference for using this format to cover social issues. The main purpose of these features seems to be to show the events in their context. The use of the several techniques to increase the sense of presence is still low.

El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo fundamental determinar la relación entre el crecimiento económico y el nivel de empleo en San Martín en el periodo 2008-2019. En esta investigación se utilizaron datos anuales del Valor Agregado Bruto del departamento de San Martín, monto de VAB por actividades productivas, PEA ocupada adecuadamente, PEA subempleada, PEA desempleada, tasa de la PEA ocupada formalmente, tasa de la PEA ocupada informalmente. Para validar las hipótesis planteadas se empleó el método histórico e inductivo, es de tipo aplicada, nivel de investigación correlacional; el diseño de investigación es no experimental, longitudinal de tendencia.
