Na aldeia de Veracruz-Totos, no departamento de Ayacucho no Peru, não há registo do corpus lexico-semântico ou estudos linguísticos dos seus topónimos, pelo que o objectivo desta investigação é analisar a semântica e a morfossintaxia da toponímia menor desta aldeia. A fim de atingir este objectivo, foi utilizada uma metodologia qualitativa com um desenho de estudo não experimental e transversal. O método é de natureza sincrónica, orientado para o conhecimento do léxico da área. Após análise da informação, foi determinado que os topónimos de Veracruz são formados principalmente pela união de dois lexemas nominais e que podem ser agrupados em campos semânticos, três dos quais são apresentados na análise: fitoponyms, hidroponyms e orotoponyms. The spiral valve (intestine) of a bull shark Carcharhinus leucas (Valenciennes, 1841) caught by artisanal fisheries at Chachalacas Beach, Veracruz Mexico was examined for helminth parasites. A total of 303 collected cestodes belonging to eight species: Callitetrarhynchus cf. gracilis (Rudolphi, 1819); Cathetocephalus cf. thatcheri Dailey & Overstreet, 1973; Eutetrarhynchidae sp.; Otobothrium sp. 1; Otobothrium sp. 2; Paraorygmatobothrium sp. 1; Paraorygmatobothrium sp. 2 and Phoreiobothrium sp. The bull shark feeds on a wide range of prey mainly bony fish. This is the first record of cestodos in the bull shark off the coast of Veracruz Mexico.

Since the beginning, science activity has been conceived as a male-gender occupation. Despite the efforts to bring women into scientific research communities, there is still much to be done. In view of the foregoing, a study was conducted with the aim to identify, with a gender-based approach, the types of teaching and learning styles at the technological institutes in the state of Veracruz, Mexico. For that purpose, an instrument with closed-ended and multiple-choice items was applied to assess the teaching models used by teachers of those institutes. This exploratory, descriptive and ex post facto study covered 9 institutes and 396 students (55.8% men and 44.2% women) who were participating in a research project. Asparagus cultivation is highly profitable and is appreciated in international gourmet cuisine. In Mexico, the production of this vegetable is mainly for export, in the state of Veracruz it has been recently introduced. The objective of the research was to characterize by morphology, molecular techniques and pathogenicity test the Fusarium species isolated from symptomatic tissues of asparagus shoot. A directed sampling was carried out on plants that showed rot, wilting and dark brown spots. Fungal isolates were obtained from diseased shoots, which were disinfected and seeded on potato dextrose agar. Isolates were purified in monosporic cultures by hyphal tip. Se registran los helmintos intestinales de ocho tiburones pertenecientes a cuatro especies: Carcharhinus plumbeus (Nardo, 1827) (n=1), Galeocerdo cuvier (Péron y LeSueur, 1822) (n=1), Isurus oxyrhinchus Rafinesque, 1810 (n=3) y Squatina dumeril (Lesueur, 1818) (n=3), capturados por la pesca artesanal en Chachalacas, Veracruz, en octubre-noviembre de 2014 y octubre de 2015. Cada intestino se colocó en una bolsa de plástico con formaldehído al 10% y se transportaron al laboratorio. Se determinaron 20 especies pertenecientes a seis órdenes. Se colectaron 619 individuos helmintos, de estos, 615 son cestodos de 18 especies y cuatro nematodos de una especie. El huachinango Lutjanus campechanus (Poey, 1968) es un pez de gran importancia comercial, debido a su abundancia y alto número de captura, generando altos ingresos para los pescadores. Su importancia implica el estudio de su helminto fauna, la cual utiliza al huachinango como parte de su ciclo de vida. En la localidad de Chachalacas, Veracruz, se colectaron las vísceras (estómago, intestino y mesenterio) de 22 ejemplares de huachinangos y se colocaron en bolsas de plástico con formol neutralizado al 10% con su etiqueta correspondiente y los siguientes datos: número de hospedero, localidad y fecha del muestreo. El presente estudio se desarrolló con la finalidad de analizar el comportamiento de la ictiofauna y sus relaciones alimenticias en tres ríos que desembocan en la laguna de Alvarado, en la costa del Golfo de México y su relación con los parámetros fisicoquímicos a través de un ciclo anual. Se ubicaron dos sitios de muestreo en cada uno de los ríos que desembocan en la laguna, río Papaloapan, río Acula y río Blanco, uno de ellos en su desembocadura hacia la laguna y el otro a 1500 m cauce arriba, en cada sitio de muestreo se registraron los parámetros fisicoquímicos y también se obtuvo la captura de los peces. El peto Scomberomorus cavalla (Cuvier, 1829) es un pez de hábitos oceanódromos, con una ruta migratoria extensa, desde el Sur de Canadá hasta São Paulo, Brasil. En México son escasos los estudios parasitológicos de esta especie, que en el estado de Veracruz es de gran importancia económica entre los meses de mayo a septiembre. El objetivo fue determinar la composición de especies de parásitos metazoos en las branquias de S. cavalla, en la localidad de Chachalacas, Veracruz. Se colectaron 34 branquias entre mayo y julio, obtenidas de las capturas por pesca artesanal. Las branquias se conservaron en formaldehido al 10% y se revisaron para la extracción de los parásitos. La raya del sur Hypanus americanus (Hildebrand & Schroeder, 1928) se distribuye desde los Estados Unidos hasta Brasil, pasando por el Golfo de México. Se alimenta de moluscos, crustáceos y peces óseos, su amplia distribución se puede denotar en su helmintofauna. Por lo tanto, el estudio de sus parásitos resulta muy útil para obtener información ecológica, patrones de migración y biología de su hospedero.
