description En este artículo se presenta cómo el cerebro adquiere y procesa el lenguaje en toda su complejidad, es decir en las diversas estructuras lingüísticas en el habla de los seres humanos. Esta mágica adquisición es un proceso complejo y trascendental ya que el lenguaje es el eje vertebrador que nutre nuestra comunicación. Asimismo, pretenderemos abarcar las diferentes dimensiones que lo componen, tal como su especificidad neurológica. Por último, nos referiremos a algunas alteraciones de la lengua y, atendiendo a ello, retomaremos la importancia de desarrollar aulas de lenguaje, como una alternativa de prevención para fomentar habilidades lingüísticas desde edades tempranas.
