Se utilizó un método Científico, de tipo de investigación Aplicada, de nivel Explicativo y de diseño de la investigación No experimental. Desarrollado la investigación se obtuvo los resultados siguientes: Las presas tipo por gravedad presentan menor resistencia en los estribos caso contrario que las presas tipo arco que tienen una mejor estabilidad.
