Estos sismos pueden causar grandes desastres y esto ocasionaría muchas muertes. Una estructura en esta zona sísmica, tiene que tener una adecuada combinación entre, resistencia, rigidez lateral y capacidad de disipación de energía en el rango inelástico, todo esto para evitar el colapso cuando ocurra un evento sísmico severo. De acuerdo a la investigación realizada se indica que esta edificación corresponde a la componente “Obra Nueva” del Proyecto Integral de restauración, adaptación y restitución de la Quinta Presa financiado por el Banco de la Vivienda del Perú en el año 1981 y ejecutado por el Instituto Nacional de Cultura; estando a cargo de la ejecución el Arquitecto Juan Luis Birimisa Aza. Por ello la presente investigación busca realizar un contraste entre la norma E. 0.30 vigente y la norma E. 0.30 de 1977 para poder entender el sistema estructural en el que fue trabajado en esos años. Como parte del estudio tambien se pretende evaluar las patologías, que grado de influencia tienen en el sistema estructural en el Edificio Contemporáneo de la Quinta de la Presa. Por ello, en la presente investigación se pretende evaluar, de manera visual y con los ensayos necesarios para determinar el grado de daños que presenta la Edificación en cuestión.

Our country is one of the regions with the highest seismic activity, the city of Lima is located on the South American and Nazca plates. These earthquakes can cause great disasters and this would cause many deaths. A structure in this seismic zone must have an adequate combination of resistance, lateral stiffness and energy dissipation capacity in the inelastic range, all this to avoid collapse when a severe seismic event occurs. According to the investigation carried out, it is indicated that this building corresponds to the ““New Construction““ component of the Integral Project of restoration, adaptation and restitution of the Fifth Dam financed by the Housing Bank of Peru in 1981 and executed by the Institute National of Culture; being in charge of the execution the Architect Juan Luis Birimisa Aza. For this reason, the present investigation seeks to make a contrast between the current E. 0.30 standard and the E. 0.30 standard of 1977 in order to understand the structural system in which it was worked in those years. As part of the study, it is also intended to evaluate the pathologies, the degree of influence they have on the structural system in the Contemporary Building of Quinta de la Presa.
