Los resultados mostraron un predominio del nivel medio de adicción a redes sociales y de inteligencia emocional con un 81% y 97% de estudiantes respectivamente, asimismo, se halló que existe correlación inversa, muy significativa y baja (r= -.209; p<.01) entre la adicción a las redes sociales e inteligencia emocional en la muestra evaluada, igualmente, se hallaron correlaciones inversas, muy significativas (p<.01) y de grado leve entre las dimensiones obsesión, falta de control y uso excesivo de adicción a redes sociales, con las dimensiones intrapersonal, interpersonal, adaptabilidad, estado de ánimo general y manejo de tensión de inteligencia emocional; por tanto, se concluye que, mientras los estudiantes tengan mayor adicción a las redes sociales, menos desarrollarán su inteligencia emocional
