Se realizó una revisión de historias clínicas de pacientes que recibieron NPT al menos 7 días y aquellos que no recibieron. Resultados: El análisis muestra una ganancia ponderal significativa (U = 155, p < 0.001) entre los recién nacidos muy prematuros que recibieron NPT durante al menos 7 días al compararlo con aquellos que no la recibieron. Los recién nacidos que recibieron NPT presentaron un promedio de ganancia ponderal de 4,65 gramos (RIC: 1,7 a 7,1 gramos), mientras aquellos que no recibieron NPT mostraron un promedio de déficit ponderal de -10 gramos (RIC: -15.1 a -3.1 gramos). Conclusión: Los recién nacidos muy prematuros que recibieron nutrición parenteral total durante al menos 7 días tienen una mayor ganancia ponderal comparación con aquellos que no recibieron.

Patients and Method: Analytical, observational, retrospective cohort study that included 92 patients (46 exposed cohort and 46 non-exposed cohort) hospitalized in the ICU and IMCU of the Neonatology Department of the Hospital Belen de Trujillo (HBT) between 2018-2023. A review of medical records of patients who received TPN for at least 7 days and those who did not. Results: The analysis shows a significant weight gain (U = 155, p < 0.001) among very preterm infants who received TPN for at least 7 days compared to those who did not. Infants who received TPN had an average weight gain of 4.65 grams (RIC: 1.7 to 7.1 grams), while those who did not receive TPN showed an average weight deficit of -10 grams (RIC: -15.1 to -3.1 grams).
