Para evaluar la Inteligencia Emocional se utilizó el inventario de Inteligencia Emocional de BarOn ICE y para medir la segunda variable se utilizó la Escala de Clima Social en la Familia de R. H. Moss (FES). Los resultados mostraron que en su mayoría los estudiantes han alcanzado un nivel medio tanto en la Inteligencia emocional (45.9%) como en el Clima social familiar (43.2%). Además se pudo aprobar la hipótesis planteada al encontrarse que existe una correlación altamente significativa (p<.001) y directa entre ambas variables, concluyéndose por lo tanto que un adecuado ambiente social familiar favorecerá en el adolescente un desarrollo de las habilidades necesarias de interacción consigo mismo y con los demás.

The sample population consisted of 220 students. The investigation was of descriptive correlational type. To evaluate the Emotional Intelligence, the Emotional Intelligence Inventory of BarOn ICE was used and to measure the second variable, the Social Climate Scale in the Family of R. H. Moss (FES) was used. The results showed that the majority of students have reached a medium level in emotional intelligence (45.9%) and family social climate (43.2%).
