El tipo de investigación utilizada fue correlacional, cuantitativo, descriptivo y diseño no experimental, corte trasversal; y la muestra estuvo conformada por 251 participantes. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron Maslach Burnout Inventory Huaman Services Survey y Cuestionario de Apoyo Social Funcional Duke-UNK-11. Se encontró una correlación inversa moderada débil (-.381) entre ambas variables, y correlación inversa moderada débil entre apoyo social con agotamiento emocional (-.334), despersonalización (-.446) y correlación directa perfecta con realización personal (-.077). Asimismo, se halló que el área asistencial, el grupo de 24 a 35 años (46.4%) y el sexo femenino (43.6%), presentan un nivel altode síndrome de burnout.
