Thus, through film productions, topics such as racism, classism, machismo, among others, have been addressed. In particular, this essay will address the representations of the LGBTIQ+ community, which has had more and more relevant characters on the screen; which, although it seems like an important advance in community acceptance, hides still latent stigmatizations. In that sense, this essay aimed to demonstrate that LGBTIQ+ representations in films and series of the 21st century, for the most part, are denigrating and inappropriate because they have been constructed from heteronorm. To support this statement, the archetypes present in the cinema that constructs queer characters were studied and their condition as reinforcers of stereotypes was demonstrated. In this way, techniques are evident within the film industry that prevent full inclusion in respect of sexual identities.El cine es una forma de expresión artística que cuenta con un impacto significativo sobre la sociedad, lo cual implica que esta no se limita al entretenimiento, sino que su contenido tiene también una gran relevancia en las percepciones de los individuos. Así, a partir de las producciones cinematográficas se han abordado temas como el racismo, clasismo, machismo, entre otros. En particular, en el presente ensayo se abordarán las representaciones de la comunidad LGBTIQ+, la cual ha contado con cada vez más personajes relevantes en la pantalla; lo cual, aunque pareciera un avance importante en la aceptación de la comunidad, oculta estigmatizaciones aún latentes. En ese sentido, el presente ensayo tuvo como objetivo demostrar que las representaciones LGBTIQ+ en películas y series del siglo XXI, en su mayoría, son denigrantes e inapropiadas debido a que han sido construidas desde la heteronorma. Para sustentar esta afirmación se estudiaron los arquetipos presentes en el cine que construye personajes queer y se demostró su condición de afianzadores de estereotipos.
