Para ello, es importante la intervención del equipo de salud, en especial el de enfermería, quien mediante la aplicación de estrategias no farmacológicas en el periodo preoperatorio puede ayudar a controlar y disminuir dicha ansiedad, logrando así un mejor resultado quirúrgico. Objetivo general: Describir la evidencia científica sobre la efectividad de las estrategias preoperatorias no farmacológicas en el control de la ansiedad del paciente quirúrgico. Metodología: Estudio cuantitativo y descriptivo, de tipo documental, en la que se empleó la revisión bibliográfica y se analizó artículos científicos de las siguientes bases de datos:Pubmed, Scielo, ScienceDirect, ResearchGate, International Journal of Caring Sciences y Journal Ners , se revisaron un total de 38 artículos, las cuales, aplicando los criterios de elegibilidad se analizaron 25 artículos de relevancia científica, publicados entre los años 2017 y 2022. Conclusiones: Se concluye que son numerosas las estrategias no farmacológicas empleadas a nivel mundial y que han demostrado ser efectivas para el control de la ansiedad del paciente quirúrgico, siendo la aromaterapia el tipo de estrategia no farmacológica más empleada y con mejor efecto sobre la ansiedad preoperatoria.

General objective: To describe the scientific evidence on the effectiveness of non-pharmacological preoperative strategies in the control of anxiety in surgical patients. Methodology: Quantitative and descriptive documentary study, in which the bibliographic review was used and scientific articles from the following databases were analyzed: Pubmed, Scielo, ScienceDirect, ResearchGate, International Journal of Caring Sciences and Journal Ners, were reviewed. a total of 38 articles, which, applying the eligibility criteria, 25 articles of scientific relevance, published between 2017 and 2022, were analyzed.
