This vision is evident in speeches as well as in increases to the education budget, constraints placed on rural education, and the implementation of differentiated teacher-training schools.El presente artículo busca demostrar que el interés de un sector de la élite peruana por modernizar la educación pública a inicios del siglo XX, y utilizarla como herramienta de modernización indígena, estaba íntimamente ligada a la concepción racial con que esta veía a la sociedad peruana.
