Objective. To determine the relationship between socioeconomic level and eating habits with the nutritional status of students in southern Peru. Methods. The collection of information was carried out under the tutelage of anthropometry and survey according to the socioeconomic level of basic needs and eating habits. Results. The results revealed that the nutritional status, according to the total body mass index (BMI) was 77.27 %, with a normal nutritional status of 15.73 % overweight, 4.55 % obese, 1.75 % at risk of becoming thin and 0.70 % thin; on the other hand, the average socioeconomic level was 71.73 %, the upper low was 23.78 %, the lower low was 0.35 % and finally it was observed that the eating habit of the students was 1.40 % for the category "very good", 72.38 % in "good", 4.20 % in "fair", 17.13 % in "bad" and 4.90 % as "very bad". Conclusions. It is concluded that there is no relationship between socioeconomic level and nutritional status, but there is a relationship between eating habits and nutritional status of students from the Southern Andes region of Peru. |

Fue un estudio tipo transversal-descriptiva-analítica. La población estuvo conformada por 1109 adolescentes, con una muestra de 286 escolares del nivel secundario. La recolección de información se efectuó bajo la tutela de la antropometría y la encuesta en función del nivel socioeconómico de las necesidades básicas y los hábitos alimentarios. Resultados. Los resultados develaron que el estado nutricional, según el índice de masa corporal (IMC) total fue de 77,27 %, con un estado nutricional normal de 15,73 % en sobrepeso, 4,55 % con obesidad, 1,75 % de riesgo hacia la delgadez y 0,70% con delgadez; por otro lado, el nivel socioeconómico medio fue 71,73 %, el bajo superior de 23,78 %, el bajo inferior de 0,35 % y por último se observó que el hábito alimentario de los estudiantes se encontraba en 1,40 % para la categoría “muy bueno”, 72,38 % en “bueno”, 4,20 % en “regular”, 17,13 % en “malo” y 4,90 % como “muy malo”. Conclusiones. Se concluye que no existe relación entre el nivel socioeconómico y el estado nutricional, pero sí existe una relación entre los hábitos alimentarios y el estado nutricional de estudiantes de la región de los Andes australes del Perú.Objetivo. A população consistia de 1109 adolescentes, com uma amostra de 286 alunos do ensino médio. A coleta de informações foi realizada sob a tutela da antropometria e o levantamento de acordo com o nível socioeconômico das necessidades básicas e hábitos alimentares. Resultados. Os resultados revelaram que o estado nutricional, de acordo com o índice de massa corporal total (IMC) foi de 77,27%, com um estado nutricional normal de 15,73% acima do peso, 4,55% obeso, 1,75% em risco de ficar magro e 0,70% magro; Por outro lado, o nível socioeconômico médio foi 71,73%, o mais baixo foi 23,78%, o mais baixo foi 0,35% e finalmente foi observado que os hábitos alimentares dos estudantes foram 1,40% na categoria "muito bom", 72,38% na categoria "bom", 4,20% na categoria "justo", 17,13% na categoria "ruim" e 4,90% na categoria "muito ruim". Conclusões.
