Descripción
Sumario:The main objective of the study was to prove the effectiveness of a remedial grammar course created by the Center of Language Studies at San Ignacio de Loyola university (Lima, Peru) through the application of a multiple regression model to a sample of 987 subjects. Prior to the construction of the model, the cause-effect relationship among variables was confirmed by applying the probabilistic dependence test, and afterwards the normality assumptions were verified. The results indicated the model goodness of fit of nearly 70% – correlation coefficient of 0.697 – in relation to the dependent variable. It was thus demonstrated that the evaluation instruments used in the course, the selection and right dosage of its contents played a pivotal role in the validity of the model by making it applicable to future courses of a similar nature.
