Por esta razón, el presente estudio aborda el efecto de variables geográficas y socioeconómicas a nivel de grupo en la tasa de crecimiento de los hogares urbanos y rurales del Perú. Para evaluar ello se utiliza un modelo teórico que permita capturar el efecto de variables espaciales y su impacto en el crecimiento del consumo. Así, la estrategia de identificación empírica supone un modelo de heterogeneidad inobservable que capture, también, el efecto de variables espaciales invariantes en el tiempo. El principal argumento es que las trampas de pobreza espacial que experimentan los hogares rurales son explicadas mejor por el modelo geográfico de pobreza; mientras que el modelo individualista explica mejor la muestra de hogares urbanos.

For this reason, the present study addresses the effect of geographic and socioeconomic variables at the group level on the growth rate of urban and rural households in Peru. To assess this, a theoretical model is used to capture the effect of spatial variables and their impact on consumption growth. Thus, the empirical identification strategy assumes an unobservable heterogeneity model that also captures the effect of invariant spatial variables over time.
