In Peru we have mineral deposits on the coast and in the highlands (Peruvian Andes), where you can find mineralization as veins, strata and bodies. Mining companies according to the type of deposit and some criteria choose the method of exploitation. By production volume, can be large mining, medium mining, small-scale and artisanal mining. Following the independence of Peru, nearly all the mines have been abandoned because workers were natural (Indians) of the Inca Empire, who were enslaved by invaders (Spanish) who worked with labor at no cost. When they wanted to restart mining operations, no pawn mine wanted to go to that "go to the mine was going to die." Until the rulers of the time (1895) offered many advantages to foreigners so they can exploit mines in Peru, reason comes to Peru in 1905 an American company in 1915 comes to form the Cerro de Pasco Corporation, which operated unti...

At present, shoring in a mine with wood continues to be an economic alternative; despite its age and competence with a diversity of elements and materials. This research work consists of looking for the best arrangement for the assembly of construction steel rods in the stress zone of a beam, in order that the steel takes all the stress stresses (fs), and the wood all compression efforts (fw), generated by a concentrated load (in the laboratory). The idea is to make wood and steel work, bonding them intimately with epoxy resins, in order to obtain similar results to that of a reinforced concrete beam. The advantage that wood has over concrete is its low specific weight, which constitutes an important parameter for workability in the subsoil. The economic and time constraints allowed testing only 150 specimens, which were not enough to achieve the desired success. However, it has given us...

In Peru, work has been carried out in the area of solid mining waste from the mineral flotation process since 2000, where the Ministry of Energy and Mines begins to carry out the inventory of mining environmental liabilities related to abandoned mining activities where it involves acidic waters, dumps, manholes and mining tailings, respectively; coming to the end to prepare the law 28271, law of regulation of the environmental liabilities of the mining activity, promulgated on July 2, 2004. In the Santa river basin the inventory of 153 mining environmental liabilities has been carried out, reaching the conclusion the urgency of conducting research studies to control the alarming contamination of the physical environment in this basin. At the end of the project, it establishes the preliminary technical parameters at the pilot level in relation to the granulometric and mineralogical ...

The Metallurgical Mining Patrimony of Tinyahuarco (Smelter) is located 10 km southwest of Cerro de Pasco city, and between years 1906 and 1923, was the biggest foundry of the time that worked. The remains of the foundry deserve to be catalogued as a metallurgical mining patrimony because besides the infrastructure of walls and columns, which persist until today, also remain some parts like the furnace, the coke plant, some offices and the hotel; from them, the one that is in good condition, is the superintendent residence, which at the moment is inhabited. It is important to remark the history of the mining activity in this region that was transformed by the presence of the foundry of Tinyahuarco (Smelter), constructed with North American investments that helped to develop the mining industry with the best technology of the time, changing many social and economical aspects of the region ...
