Este artículo presenta la sistematización de la implementación de una experiencia de innovación en la docencia universitaria, realizada desde una perspectiva interdisciplinaria y colaborativa de las Facultades de Educación y de Arte, teniendo  como propósito la creación de cuentos peruanos para niños para el desarrollo de la sensibilidad, la apreciación y valoración del patrimonio nacional y regional. Para la realización del análisis se usaron grupos focales como método de recolección de datos con el propósito de conocer la percepción de los estudiantes de dichas facultades sobre su participación en esta actividad formativa. La muestra estuvo constituida por 8 alumnos de Arte y 7 alumnas de Educación. Las instituciones educativas están pasando de la «transmisión de conocimientos» a la «construcción de conocimientos»; de una educación centrada en la actuación del profesor, a una información enfocada en el aprendizaje del alumno. Es un cambio en la epistemología y en lo que se considera como conocimiento y cómo este se adquiere. Desde este enfoque se plantea que una «comunidad de aprendizaje» infunde una «cultura de aprendizaje», donde el aprendizaje y la creatividad son apoyados y estimulados a través de estrategias que ayudan a los que aprenden a establecer metas posibles y a regular el propio comportamiento para lograr esas metas.
