Objetivo: Establecer los factores de riesgo asociados a la presencia de caries dental en niños de 0 a 12 años con labio y paladar fisurado de las regiones de Arequipa, Cusco, Puno, Junín y Lima. Método: El tipo de estudio fue analítico, transversal, retrospectivo. La muestra estuvo constituida por 216 niños con fisura de labio y paladar de 0 a 12 años de 5 regiones del Perú que acudieron a evaluación odontopediatría durante los años 2018 al 2023. El muestreo fue no probabilístico y para medir caries dental se usó el índice ceod/CPOD y para los factores de riesgo se midió la higiene oral Green y Vermillon, la dieta inadecuada (lactancia nocturna y golpes de azúcar). Resultados: La prevalencia de caries dental observada fue con una media máxima de ceod de 2,96 (Junín) para menores de 3 años, de 10,10 (Cusco) de 4 a 6 años y de 8,64 (Junín) para 7 a 12 años. El propósito de este estudio fue el de determinar los factores de riesgo para caries y enfermedad periodontal y si existen diferencias estadísticamente significativas de niños autistas en comparación con sus hermanos no autistas. El estudio fue de tipo casos y controles transversal, para ello se estudio 16 niños de 3 a 18 años del Centro Ann Sullivan del Perú con diagnostico de Autismo Infantil. El grupo control fueron los hermanos sanos de similar edad. El muestreo fue no probabilístico por conveniencia. Report a case of girl of 4 years 3 months with congenital cerebral palsy distonic caused by citomegalovirus infectión with convulsive sindrome. The patient was referred to the pediatric dentistry departament at the dental school of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM) for her odontopediatric treatment. The patient had an integral evaluation and treatment with no conventional dental procedures, without consciencious sedation. Having in consideration her age and cooperation level. Several medical and dental specialities was included. A significative diminishment in the convulsive frecuency after the dental treatment was referreal. Finally the of importance integrate odontology into multisciplinary team that works with this kind of patient is remarked.

The aim of the present study was to assess the prevalence of dental caries and the stateof the oral hygiene in pediatric patients who received dental care at the Clínica del Niño, of Faculty Dentistry. The type of the investigation was descriptive with a sample of 399 patients whose parents authorized the permission for the investigation. The patients of the study were, medical conditions compromised, handicapped children, complex children, children no receptive, children with orthodontics problems, children with urgency problems, and bbies. First we collected the personal datum and then it was collected the clinical examination, using the dental index for DMFT, dmft and the simplified index hygiene of Green and Vermillion. El objetivo del estudio fue determinar la prevalencia de caries dental y estado de higiene bucal de pacientes pediátricos atendidos en la Clínica del Niño de la Facultad de Odontología en el 2006. Mediante un estudio Descriptivo, los 399 pacientes estudiados, previo consentimiento informado de sus padres o tutores, fueron catalogados como: niños médicamente comprometidos, discapacitados, complejos,no receptivos, con problemas ortodónticos, de emergencias y bebes. En la metodología, primero se procedio a la recolección de datos a través de un instrumento tipo encuesta y luego se realizó la observación clínica utilizándose los índices para caries dental CPO-D, ceo-d y el Índice de Higiene Oral Simplificado de Green y Vermillon. The purpose of this study is to determinate the influence of the sociocultural factors in the oral health of Women in Fertile Age (WFA) in Mala's rural comunnity on 2004. For this study we take a research group of 40 WFA of Mala cornmunity (from 15 to 49 years old) who were selected according to the selection criterion established for the present study. To these women we practice a structure survey according to the research variable and then we practice a dental examination to corroborate the oral health state we also take DMFT index of every one. The present article, reports a clinical case of a female 37-month-old child, who arrived to the Specialized Dental Clinic of the Pediatric Dentistry Department from the University San Martin de Porres– Peru, at clinical examination the patient showed a soft tissue injury of about 1 cm in diameter, roundish, with smooth, shiny and well-defined limits and presenting a pedicle up to the deciduous lower incisors creating a diastema between the teeth. It was decided to realize surgical removal of the lesion to be a slow-growing lesion that is affecting speech and feeding the patient, determining the histopathology diagnosis of giant cell fibroma. The importance of correct diagnosis and treatment of these injuries, especially in the first years of life is something to highlighted.

Prior informed consent of parents, we selected 73 infants from 6 to 36 months with carious lesions in deciduous teeth, a dental record data were collected for analysis of risk factors. The clinical examination determined the presence of white spot and cavitated lesions. It was clearly noted the influence of risk factors (oral hygiene of the infant, direct microbial transmissibility mother-child and diet), in the presence of dental caries in its two stages: white spot and cavitated lesions.
