Gender-based violence expresses the power imbalance between men and women, transgresses women’s human rights and is a public health problem. Its existence is ancient and compromises societies around the world. Over one third of women has suffered violence , either psychological, physical, or sexual . Sexual violence is the most extreme version of violence against women usually concurrent with the other two types of violence. Pregnancy is not a protective factor. Victims’ closest persons, such as her current or late couple, family or known persons usually with authority on her, are the most common perpetrators. Objective. To determine the relationship between maternal hemoglobin of pregnant adolescents and the weight of newborns in the National Maternal Perinatal Institute (INMP). Material and methods. 914 pregnant women were analyzed cross-sectionally by inclusion and exclusion criteria of 2729 deliveries of adolescents attended in the INMP corresponding to the year 2017. The data were collected from the birth registry and clinical histories, the variables of interest were hemoglobin maternal and the weight of the newborn. Results. Of the 914 births, 299 mothers (32%) presented anemia and 615 (68%) did not present anemia, the predominant age group were adolescents in the late stage 73% (with anemia) and 71% (without anemia). In the prenatal control, there was a predominance of insufficient or uncontrolled 74% (with anemia) and 73% (without anemia). Single women were the majority group, 91% (wi...

Objectives: To socialize and discuss recent investigations on the current status of family planning services and their relationship with maternal mortality figures in order to reach consensus on a guide proposed for use in the public sector. Methods: Three Regional Forums were organized with participation of a group of experts at national level and a group of experts at each of the three regions involved in the intervention (Arequipa, Piura y Ucayali). Consensus on thematic content and event development methodology was obtained. Contents centered on: Sexual and Reproductive Rights review, ENDES 2010 Survey results, maternal mortality figures recently processed by the Epidemiology General Direction of the Ministry of Health, evaluation of maternal mortality, family planning and Compromise Round Table for Fighting Poverty at regional level.
