The research carried out proposed analyzing the impact on the implementation of the social and environmental development programs of the Minera Barrick company, for which the Pierina-Huaraz Production Unit focused. For this, an elementary type of investigation was used, making use of an investigative design of a quantitative nature, in strict compliance with academic rigor. Evalúa la efectividad del Programa Integral de Responsabilidad Social y Ambiental (PIRSA) de la Empresa Minera Barrick en la Unidad de Producción Pierina, ubicado en el distrito de Jangas, provincia de Huaraz, departamento de Ancash. La metodología utilizada es una investigación básica con un diseño no experimental, nivel descriptivo, enfoque cuantitativo y corte transversal. La población estuvo conformada por las actividades del Programa PIRSA en las 12 comunidades aledañas a la Mina Pierina. La muestra estuvo conformada por 75 viviendas de 4 comunidades (Mataquita, Mareniyoc, Atupa y Cuncashca). Se aplicaron dos instrumentos, uno para medir el nivel socioeconómico de las poblaciones, y otro para medir la variable responsabilidad social y ambiental. The gold-silver artisanal operations carried out throughout the Peruvian territory are characterized by having low recoveries of precious metals, being carried out in poor working conditions and generating negative consequences in the ecosystem, which was the basis of the approach to our problem. For this, a representative sample of a batch of amalgamation tailings in the department of Puno was investigated with a tested head of 19.58 gr/TM of Au, 159.67 gr/TM of Ag and 10.53 ppm of Hg. The optical microscopy report indicated the presence of gold, pyrite, magnetite, hematite, Ilmenite, rutile and gangue.
