An ecological study was carried out with the objective of evaluation of the ornithocenosis present in "Monte Ramonal" in the municipality of Santo Domingo, Villa Clara province, Cuba between December 2017 and April 2018. The plant formation where the studies were carried out was the semideciduous mesophilic forest, on a poorly drained soil. For the avifauna counts, a transect of approximately 800 meters long was taken. Given the characteristics of the vegetation, the area analyzed was 11,200m2 (approximately one hectare). We determined the systematic structure, guilds, species richness, similarity, dissimilarity, diversity, and fairness. En esta investigación se realiza una evaluación de la ornitocenosis presente en “Monte Ramonal”, municipio de Santo Domingo, provincia Villa Clara, Cuba, en los meses de diciembre de 2017 y abril de 2018 respectivamente. La formación vegetal donde se realizaron los estudios fue el bosque semideciduo mesófilo, sobre un suelo de mal drenaje. Para los conteos de la avifauna se tomó un transepto de aproximadamente 800 m de largo, dadas las características de la vegetación, el área analizada fue de 11,200m2 (una ha aproximadamente). Se determinó la estructura sistemática, gremios, riqueza de especies, similitud, disimilitud, diversidad y equitatividad de la avifauna.
