This article explores and analyzes the role of Performing Rights Organizations withinthe paradigm shifts that have occurred in recent years, both globally and locally, in the music industry. We used the agency theory as a theoretical framework to explain the continuous demands and requests for regulatory changes that have been made against this organizations, and explored the technological advances as an alternative to increase the monitoring capacity of the principals (members of collecting societies) on the behavior of the agents (its managers), and finally presenting potential management mechanisms based on the theory of Stewardship for the shared achievement of corporate goals.

This article provides a guide that focuses on adopting a constructivist approach to analyze organizational management through the use of narrative analysis and life stories. It also highlights the relevance of personal experiences and the organizational role as sources of knowledge, provides a systematic method for data collection through shared narratives and presents various alternatives for rigorous data interpretation. The primary objective is to encourage the generation of new knowledge from the experiences and narratives of those individuals involved in the management of the organization. This significantly enriches the understanding of these phenomena and contributes novel approaches to the field of research.

Diferentes investigaciones reconocen que las empresas familiares presentan ventajas sobre las no-familiares con relación al manejo de la reputación e imagen en la comunidad y el impacto positivo de una cultura organizacional de largo plazo, lo cual aumenta el valor de la marca o brand equity. El objetivo de la presente nota es, con base en una revisión bibliográfica, dar a conocer la manera en que los gerentes de empresas familiares añaden valor a sus organizaciones a través de la gestión del brand equity, y esbozar una posible agenda de investigación en este tema.

Estos Apuntes de clase son una contribución que los autores de los casos han realizado a la enseñanza interactiva de la gestión de organizaciones.
