Cinchona officinalis conocida localmente como cascarilla, es una especie forestal de importancia para el Perú y está en peligro de extinción. El objetivo del estudio fue determinar la influencia que tiene el sustrato sobre la germinación de C. officinalis. Se aplicó un diseño al azar con seis tratamientos; T0 (100% tierra de bosque), T1 (50% de tierra de bosque + 35% de arena + 15% de humus), T2 (50% de tierra de bosque + 50% de arena), T3 (50% de humus + 50% de arena), T4 (50% de tierra de bosque + 50% de humus) y T5 (100% de arena). Se usaron tres repeticiones por tratamiento y 100 semillas por réplica. La germinación de C. officinalis inició 19 días después la siembra de las semillas y concluyó el día 51. Seed germination is the fundamental phenomenon that determines the successful growth and development of each plant species,even more so in Cinchona ofcinalis, which is a forest species that stands out for its medicinal importance. Te objective of thiswork was to determine the best sigmoidal mathematical model describing the germination of C. ofcinalis.
