Traditionally, the restoration of endodontically treated posterior teeth with significant coronal structure loss was done with a conventional crown and a core post. With advancements in adhesive techniques, alternative restorative approaches emerged, such as the endocrown, which utilizes the pulp chamber as a macromechanical retentive mean, thereby preserving the maximum amount of remaining dental tissue. Furthermore, a variety of CAD/CAM materials are now increasingly accessible to clinicians. The objective is to know the findings of in vitro studies on molars regarding the fracture resistance of endocrown using different CAD/CAM materials. This narrative review compiled original articles from bibliographic databases including PubMed, LILACS, SciELO, Scopus, and Google Scholar published between 2018 and 2023. It is concluded that lithium disilicate ceramic endocrown demonstrated the hig...

Periodontal therapy can be broadly classified as surgical and non surgical therapy. Non surgical therapy includes: patient's motivation, plaque control, supra and subgigival acaling, root planning and complementary use of chemical agents. Non surgical therapy is an effective method of periodontal therapy. Longitudinal studies have found that non surgical therapy was effective for single rooted teeth, and multi rooted teeth and also, in shallow deep pockets. It must be pointed out that non surgical therapy may not be effective in some sites and even in some patients, therefore in must be recognized that after reevaluation appointments it should be performed an appropriate surgical therapy.

The purpose of this investigation was to determine if periodontal disease in pregnants women is a risk factor to preterm births. For this study a periodontal exam was performed on all one- hundred twenty patients who were divided in two groups: one named cases with sixty preterm postpartum patients and the other one named control with sixty term pregnant who assits to the Hospital Nacional Docente Madre-Niño "San Bartolomé" in the year 2001. The were significant differences between the two group in two aspects. Clinically, the cases group had worse periodontal disease then the control group. Finally, it was determined that periodontal disease during pregnancy is an important risk factor.

Necrotizing periodontal Diseases and Conditions in 1999 are two: Necrotizing gingivitis (NG) and Necrotizing periodontitis (NP). Necrotizing stomatitis (NE) is a more aggressive variation, which can be linked to the two entities mentioned. In this review we discuss their definitions, etiology, clinical aspects, diagnosis and treatment, trying to clarify these points with updated concepts.

Objective: Determine the presence of black pigmented bacteria (BNP) in periodontal pockets before and after periodontal treatment. Materials and method: The type of study is descriptive which has a sample of 10 areas, ten patients in which periodontal pockets were identified, samples were taken with paper cones, which were then cultured in blood agar medium with hemin and vitamin K, incubated. Subsequently he identified and counted the black pigmented colonies before and after periodontal treatment. Results: Of the first samples examined before treatment could be recovered BNP 60 % of cultured samples with a range of presence of 16-312 CFU and samples obtained after periodontal treat-ment could be recovered in 50 % of them , with a range of 5 to 70 presence UFC, and this is confirmed by statistical analysis. Conclusions: It is concluded that BNP is present in periodontal pockets and that...
