The multifactorial etiology of periodontal disease and pulp processes, the bacterial factor has great relevance. In these processes is identified polymicrobial flora which highlights Treponema denticola, a spirochete with multiple virulence factors that make it a dangerous bacterium, being identified with a certain predominance in lesions as gingivitis necrotizing ulcer and acute apical abscesses. Its isolation culture is feasible by highly enriched media, although based procedures such as molecular biology PCR (polymerase chain reaction) can determine its presence and quantity. This review aims to tell us more about this pathogen.

Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans is a pathogen extensively studied in the clinical conditions of the Periodontitis, already identified in the early twentieth century. Over the years it has undergone changes in its denomination and multiple virulence factors that make it an important pathogen in the periodontal disease have been discovered, specifically in the localized Aggressive Periodontitis. This review tries to explain its morphology, virulence factors, culture and other important characteristics.

Porphyromonas gingivalis is a gram negative bacillus predominant in chronic periodontitis, multiple virulence factors make it extremely aggressive. In the gingival sulcus find the conditions for growth, interacting with the host produces a slow but steady destruction of periodontal tissue. Its dominance has been considered a risk factor for systemic inflammatory diseases such as myocardial infarction. Although its susceptibility to a variety of drugs makes possible its handling with antimicrobials after mechanical removal of subgingival biofilm. In conclusion this review covers various features of the bacteria, which lead us to the consensus that the pathogen Porphyromonas gingivalis is more relevant in chronic periodontitis, and its presence in various forms of periodontal diseases

The deficiencies of bone quality in the patient, either of wide or height, make the clinician take decisions to improve these conditions, with the purpose of placing implants or improving faulty edges that can support a prosthetics frame. For this, the procedures of guided bone regeneration with ones own chin bone (autogenous implant), are the ones with the best forecast for resolving the problem. In this clinical case we show the diagnosis, the surgical technique, the advantages and pharmacotherapy of guided bone regeneration treatment with autogenous chin implant.

One of the tumours in the oral cavity of epithelial origin, with major damage at the bone or soft tissue is an Ameloblastom; although this is a benign tumour, its aggressiveness could lead to produce extensive destruction of the jawbone. In this report, one case is exposed, a male patient with clinical and diagnosis - X-ray radiographicof Ameloblastom.

Among the microorganisms that form the red complex, considered by Socransky as aggressive bacteria in periodontitis, such as Tannerella forsythia, a strict anaerobic bacillus, which would be participating with relevance in this pathology, its multiple virulence factors, as well as its capacity to subsist under optimal conditions in the periodontal pocket, such as stimulating the activation of inflammation mediators that with the chronicity of the disease would be progressively damaging the periodontium. In this review, we will learn more regarding this microorganism of great importance in periodontal diseases.

Objective: the objective of this study was to evaluate the antibacterial activity of oleoresin Copaifera reticulate (C. reticulata) on Periodontopathogenic bacteria Porphyromonas gingivalis (P. gingivalis ) Methodology: From a total of 43 samples of subgingival plaques of patients with periodontitis, it was isolated 20 clinical strains of P. gingivalis, the preliminary identification occurred by growth of black pigmented colonies on blood agar with hemin and vitamin K, these colonies were purified to test for catalase, oxidase and TSI, Citrate, Urea, Sim means. Definitive identification was held by means of the automated testing of Api 20 A. Once the strain were isolated the diffusion test was performed on plate, with discs loaded with the oleoresin at concentrations of 100 %, 50 %, 25 %, 12,5 %, 6,25 %, 3,12 %, 1,56 %, 0.78%, 0,39 %, 0,19 %, taking 0,12 % chlorhexidine as a positive con...

The objective of this review is to determine the most relevant characteristics of Fusobacterium nucleatum, which is a commensal microorganism of the oral cavity, its ability to act as a bridge between early and late colonizers in the formation of dental biofilm is known, but in addition Its great capacity to colonize, invade and activate pro-inflammatory cytokines, give it great importance for its action as a local and distant pathogen, since it has been isolated in different tissues and organs of the human body. The methodology for collecting and obtaining information for the development of the review is based on relevant articles on the subject, obtained from scientific databases such as: PubMed, Hinari, Wiley, Scielo, among others. This review tried to describe and understand a little more about this bacterium, which is part of the orange complex, according to Socransky. Concluding th...
