This study presents discussions on the importance of promoting interventional actions in the school context, through continuing teacher training involving the STEAM approach, to make the teaching and learning process more attractive and encourage more girls to be interested in STEM areas. For this, a Qualitative Systematic Review was carried out, making it possible to conclude that investing in actions involving the STEAM approach represents a potential for innovating educational practices, as well as supporting the presence of girls in STEM areas.

In this study, we intend to understand how public policies can mitigate the complex challenges linked to gender inequality in high school in Brazil. The role of public policies in dealing with gender issues is discussed, with a focus on high school, a stage that makes it possible to overcome challenges faced by women in their study trajectories, especially in STEM careers (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

This text presents an ongoing research that relates the policy mapping activity aimed at promoting gender-related issues in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) conducted by the ELLAS research network (Equality in Leadership for Latin American STEM) to the Brazilian New High School policy. Through document analysis related to the policy, it is possible to identify indications of the gender demand in STEM within the national policy, stemming from the loan agreement with the World Bank.

Institutional actions and policies implemented by universities hold the potential to significantly impact the inclusion of women in leadership roles within STEM fields. This article describes the methodological design approved by the local ethics committee to conduct the research in Brazil, with the primary objective of understanding the degree to which discursive productions on gender affect women’s career experiences and leadership paths within STEM fields in higher education. Discursive productions include structures of power such as university policies, climate, culture, and projects. It is expected that the work will provide valuable insights and support for researchers sharing similar goals and who work to reduce gender inequalities in STEM.

The underrepresentation of women in STEM fields needs to be highlighted through data to assist decisionmakers and public policy creators in addressing the issue effectively. However, the lack of structured, organized data published openly in this domain is still a reality. To address this problem, a Latin American research network called ELLAS was created. The project’s goal is to develop a platform with Semantic Web-based technologies to structure and concentrate data from Brazil, Peru, and Bolivia, initially. This paper presents the processes defined for the collection and curation of both unstructured and structured data, sourced from scientific articles, social networks, and existing open data. We explore the architecture design in a way that facilitates understanding of the details of the processes and the actors involved for each data source. We present the preliminary results fr...
