To develop a new product pharmaceutical industries, use analytical methods to quantify the active principle fast and reliable. The validation was determined if the method is reliable and reproducible, for this reason the present work validated an analytical method by high resolution liquid chromatography to quantify sennosides in chocolate bars, the type of research was descriptive with simple random sampling. The chromatographic conditions at 274 nm, mobile phase with a flow gradient ranging from 0.4 to 1, 5 mL / minute and solvent, composed to phosphate buffer pH 3.5 and Acetonitrile, injection volume 40 μL. The evaluated validation parameters confirmed specificity, linearity to concentrations of 0.07; 0.11; 0.15; 0.19 and 0.23 mg / mL with a correlation coefficient of 0.9996, precision with a coefficient of variation less than 2 %, accuracy of 98.6 % and robustness after 24 hours wit...

The objective of the study was to determine the antioxidant activity in the lyophilized and atomized powder of Ipomoea batata L. by the DPPH and FRAP methods, in the variety from the Piura area known as “purple sweet potato”. Two drying methods were used, spray and lyophilization. To determine the antioxidant capacity, the DPPH and FRAP methods were used. The solubility test was carried out with water, ethanol and methanol. The results were the values of 23.23 μmol Trolox equivalents / g for DPPH and 20.18 μmol Trolox equivalents / g for FRAP in the lyophilized sample and values of 5.24 μmol Trolox equivalents / g for DPPH and 4.96 μmol Trolox equivalents / g for FRAP in the atomized sample. In conclusion, the results show that the antioxidant capacity of the variety of Ipomoea Batatas L. (Purple Sweet Potato) presents a great difference in the results according to the drying met...

Genotoxic evaluation is an important step for a product that is aimed for human consumption. A beverage composed of pseudocereals with highly nutritious elements like quinua (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.), kiwicha (Amaranthus caudatus L.) and kañiwa (Chenopodium pallidicaule Aellen) was prepared to reduce lipid contents in a group of volunteers. The objective of the present study is to evaluate the genotoxic potential of an experimental beverage using two in vitro tests that have been validated by international agencies. For the Ames test, two strains of Salmonella typhimurium (TA98 and TA100) with and without microsomal fraction (S9) were used. Four doses of the beverage were tested and also a possible protective effect (same four doses of beverage added to plates with mutagens). Cultures of binucleated lymphocytes and five doses of the beverage were used for the micronucleus test. Both A...
