Introducción: La alfabetización en salud bucal (ASB) alude a las habilidades cognitivas y sociales que permiten a las personas obtener, procesar y comprender informaciones sobre el cuidado de la salud bucal que les permitan tomar decisiones correctas al respecto. Objective: To collect updated information based on scientific evidence on the use of the amber necklace in babies. Material and Methods: TA search strategy was carried out in the bibliographic databases such as MEDLINE (Pubmed), SCOPUS, EMBASE, LILACS, Scielo and Google Scholar (Grey literature) using the descriptors "Amber", "Succinic Acid", "Primary Tooth", "Dental Eruption" and "Local Symptoms". Articles published between 2012 and 2022 in English, Portuguese and Spanish were included, which addressed issues related to the use of the amber necklace in babies, considering the benefits and/or negative effects. Literature reviews, book chapters and theses were excluded. A total of 6 articles were included. Conclusion: AThe use of the amber necklace in babies is focused on the control of the symptoms of dental eruption. However, there is still no scientific evidence to confirm its efficacy...

Objective: To describe a prosthetic rehabilitation with a telescopic prosthesis to improve child’s self -steem. Case report: A female 4-year-5-month-old patient attended the Dental Clinic of the Universidad Científica del Sur, Lima-Peru along with her parents. They requested treatment due to dental caries lesions that affected their daughter’s self-esteem. Oral clinical examination and radiographs revealed early childhood caries. After assessing the diagnosis, the former dental treatment was planned for the child. The treatment included dental prophylaxis, hygiene guidelines, restorations and pulp therapy. Objective: To describe the aesthetic modification of the surgical technique for upper labial frenulum (frenectomy) to preserve the interdental papilla of vestibular frenulum with low insertion. Case report: A female 9-year-1-month-old patient attended the Dental Clinic of Universidad Científica del Sur, Lima-Peru. Clinical examination revealed a low insertion of upper labial frenulum, and the presence of a central diastema diagnosed as positive in the Graber test. After local dental anesthesia, a modified “Y” shaped incision was made to preserve the interdental papilla. Then, the papilla was divided using a split-thickness papillary flap technique with the complete removal of the transgingival alveolar fiber. Total elimination of the papilla was avoided. Objective: To describe the conservative surgical management of a compound odontoma and its six-month follow-up in a pediatric patient. Case report: A female patient aged 9 years and 11 months with no history of dentoalveolar trauma attended the Dental Clinic of the Universidad Científica del Sur, Lima-Peru. Clinically. It was observed a delayed eruption of tooth 11. Panoramic and periapical radiographs showed a mixed radiolucent and radiopaque lesion compatible with compound odontoma. A conservative alveolar approach was performed under infiltrative local anesthesia, through a scalloped marginal incision.
