The objective of this study was to determine the antioxidant and antimicrobial activity of the ethanolic extract of the aerial parts of the Solanum radicans L.f. (huallpachaqui) from San Juan of Chacña, province of Aymaraes, department of Apurímac. The extract was taken to dryness, fractionated and determined the presence of secondary metabolites by precipitation and / or color reactions; The characterization of the extract was then carried out by determining the pH, total solids, soluble solids, ashes, color and appearance. The antioxidant activity was evaluated by the inhibition method against the radical 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrilhydrazil (DPPH) and by the Ferric Reduction Antioxidant Power (FRAP) method; the antimicrobial activity was tested in bacterial strains of Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Proteus mirabilis. The presence of secondary metabolite...

“This is a review of the current status of drug bioequivalence studies in Peru. A bibliographic search was conducted in PubMed (Medline database) for bioequivalence studies in Peru. Generic drugs constitute the basis of pharmacological requests in health care systems in Latin American countries. Peru has enacted laws and regulations that require bioequivalence studies of high health risk drugs and exemptions, based on international legislation, to be conducted in research centers accredited by the authority of Health. There is a list of 19 drugs that must demonstrate their therapeutic equivalence through in vivo or in vitro studies, of which 13 have shown bioequivalence in vivo, and 8 of those have shown bioequivalence in vitro. There is a challenge for health authorities to enforce the current legislation and an even greater challenge for pharmaceutical laboratories to demonstrate bio...

HIGH-FLOW NON-INVASIVE VENTILATION (NIV) DEVICES REDUCE THE MORBIDITY AND MORTALITY OF COVID-19. THE OBJECTIVE WAS TO EVALUATE THE USE OF THE NON-INVASIVE VENTILATION DEVICE WITH HIGH-FLOW HELMET CPAP DESIGNED IN PERU IN PATIENTS WITH SEVERE ACUTE RESPIRATORY SYNDROME (COVID-19) HOSPITALIZED IN THE EMERGENCY SERVICES OF FIVE HOSPITALS. PROSPECTIVE MULTICENTER AND CROSS-SECTIONAL OBSERVATIONAL STUDY FROM FIVE HOSPITALS FROM JULY TO AUGUST 2020. 19 PATIENTS WERE RECRUITED AND DIVIDED INTO TWO GROUPS (G-1 N = 10; G-2 N = 9) APPLYING CLINICAL AND GASOMETRIC PARAMETERS AS INDICATORS OF DISEASE EVOLUTION UPON HOSPITAL ADMISSION AND WITHIN 24 HOURS. A PROGRESSIVE INCREASE IN THESE PARAMETERS WAS OBSERVED IN THOSE PATIENTS WHO USED THE NIV CPAP HELMET WITHIN THE FIRST 24 HOURS. IN G-01, IMPROVEMENT WAS EVIDENT IN 90% (N = 9/10): PAO2 (RANGE 48–137; AVERAGE: 82.49 ± 8.07; P-VALUE = 0.008), CO2...
