Actualmente, el cáncer es uno de los mayores problemas de salud pública. En 2013 hubo una incidencia de 14.9 millones de casos de cáncer y 8.2 millones de muertes, generando así 196.3 millones de años de vida ajustados por discapacidad (DALY) en todo el mundo. En los últimos años, con el avance en la medicina, los pacientes con cáncer primario han tenido un mejor seguimiento desde su primer diagnóstico, detectando así, de manera oportuna, un aumento de segundas neoplasias, ya que los pacientes que presentan un cáncer primario tienen un riesgo de 8.5% a desarrollarlas2 debido al tratamiento con quimioterapia o radioterapia, las cuales son carcinógenas en el paciente tratado.

“Objectives: To identify differences in the clinical and epidemiologic characteristics of patients during the first and second waves of the COVID-19 pandemic at the EsSalud Lambayeque health care network, Peru. Methods: An analytical cross-sectional study of 53,912 patients enrolled during the first and second waves of COVID-19 was conducted. Cluster analysis based on clustering large applications (CLARA) was applied to clinical-epidemiologic data presented at the time of care. The two pandemic waves were compared using clinical-epidemiologic data from epidemiologic surveillance. Results: Cluster analysis identified four COVID-19 groups with a characteristic pattern.
