OBJECTIVES: To describe the characteristics of the therapeutic relationship according to the Joyce Travelbee theory between nurse and family of patients hospitalized in emergency services of a hospital in Lima. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Descriptive and transversal, 60 family members participated, a perception survey was applied with Likert scale. RESULTS: According to Joyce Travelbee’s theory, the therapeutic relationship between the nurse and the family is considered positive for 58,3% of the relatives. For 41, 7% of this, the relationship is acceptable, and for 16% is positive. Methods: Cross-sectional, quantitative, correlational study; conducted in 70 nursing interns during 2018, the Honey-Alonso validated questionnaire (CHAEA) was applied for learning styles and record of grades for academic performance, the data were submitted to descriptive and inferential statistics, using SPSS 26.0. OBJECTIVES: This paper aims to determine the relationship between the characterization of Total Family Risk and Family Type in a slum population in northern Lima. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The method used was quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional design. The population was 540 families consisted of 540 families. Data-collection was given between the second semester of 2014 and 2015 involving nursing students. Started an interview with the head of the family.
