Esta investigación tiene como objetivo describir las características y el uso de los recursos y materiales pedagógicos en una institución educativa inicial de EIB. Dada la naturaleza cualitativa de investigación, optamos por un estudio etnográfico; siendo así nuestro escenario una institución educativa inicial de EIB en la región de Cusco y contando con la participación de las madres de familia, estudiantes y la docente de aula. Los datos para este estudio se recogieron a través de las técnicas de observación participante y entrevistas semi-estructuradas. En el estudio se encontró que en la institución educativa inicial de EIB se hace uso de recursos y materiales estructurados que son brindados por el Ministerio de Educación y recursos no estructurados ligados al entorno naturaleza.
