The chemical composition and apparent digestibility of nutrients of the solid-state fermentation (SSF) of waste taro tubers (Colocasia esculenta (L) Schott) inoculated with natural yogurt fed to growing pigs was determined. Dry matter (DM), organic matter (OM), crude protein (CP), crude fibre (CF), ash, ether extract (EE), nitrogen-free extracts (NFE) and gross energy (GE) were determined. For the study of apparent digestibility of the MS, MO, CP, CF, NFE and GE, 12 castrated Landrace x Duroc x Pietrain male pigs of 25 ± 2 kg were used, distributed in three groups with four animals each and fed with diets containing 0, 10, and 20% of SSF (T0, T10 and T20, respectively).             The content of phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity in powder and cooked extract of wild anise foliage (Piper auritum Kunth) and its effect as a phytobiotic additive for pigs in the post weaning phase were evaluated. Fresh wild anise plants were collected and processed in the laboratory to obtain the powder and foliage extract. The aim of this study was to evaluate the use of liquid silage of baby banana with taro tubers in the diet of post-weaning pigs. In experiment 1, 30 microsilos of 1 kg capacity were prepared and physical, microbiological, organoleptic and chemical characteristics were determined at 1, 4, 8, 15, 30 and 60 days of fermentation (five per day). In experiment 2, 60 Landrace x Duroc x Pietrain castrated piglets of 8.53 ± 0.28 kg were used, distributed in three groups with 20 animals each and fed with 0, 2 and 4% silage inclusion in the diet. The silage on day 1 had the highest temperature (22.56 °C) and pH (4.82). There was no presence of Escherichia coli, Clostridium spp or Salmonella spp. The odour (fermented sweet), colour (light greenish) and consistency (pasty) of the silage was adequate. Se evaluaron las características químicas de un ensilado de raquis de plátano (Musa paradisiaca) y banano orito (Musa acuminata AA) tratado con suero de leche. Se prepararon 24 microsilos de 1 kg de capacidad y se determinó el pH, materia seca (MS), proteína bruta (PB), fibra bruta (FB), cenizas, extracto etéreo (EE), extractos libres de nitrógeno (ELN) y energía bruta (EB) a los 0, 1, 4, 8, 15 y 30 días de conservación (cuatro microsilos por cada día). In total, 25 plastic microsilos of 1 kg were elaborated and the pH, dry matter (DM), crude protein (PB), ash, ethereal extract (EE), nitrogen-free extract (ELN) and crude energy (EB) were determined, as well as the probable contamination with Escherichia coli, Clostridium spp and Salmonella sp. In total, 24 microsilos of 1 kg capacity were prepared and the pH, dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), crude fiber (CF), ashes, ether extract (EE), nitrogen-free extracts (NFE) and gross energy (GE) were determined at 0, 1, 4, 8, 15 and 30 days of conservation (four microsilos for each day). Two male castrated pigs were used, body weight of 50 ± 2 kg, housed in metabolic cages, and under a 2x2 Latin square design. The pigs were fed diets with 0 (control) and 15% inclusion of sacha inchi seed meal, respectively.
