The coronavirus disease originated in the year 2019 (COVID-19), has spread rapidly throughout the world, wreaking havoc on the health system and society. We report the case of a 26-year-old man with a history of asthma and obesity, who returned from the US and went to the emergency room with respiratory symptoms, hypoxemia and interstitial infiltrate on chest radiography, he was admitted to the isolation room The nasopharyngeal swab RT-PCR molecular test was negative, so he was transferred to a common emergency room. Initial management was conservative, however the patient evolved unfavorably requiring ventilatory support, but died on the fifth day of hospitalization. A second positive result for SARS-CoV-2 was received the day after the patient died, being one of the first young victims in Peru.

Latin America is affected by citizen insecurity; street robberies are frequent. In Peru, this scenario is alarming; according to studies and reports presented by the authorities, it is estimated that a monthly average of 1,5348 robberies are reported every month. Lima, being the main capital, is exposed to a greater number of assaults, especially in young areas; because of this, in this research work, an IoT design was presented, which consists of a system of alarms implemented in specific areas where the complaint rate is higher. This alarm will be activated through a mobile application installed on the user’s smartphone, This way; the user can turn on the alarm in case they witnesses or is the victim of a robbery; the application will send an alert message to the nearest authorities to take action on the scare. The Scrum Methodology was used as a methodology because its framework is ...

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has caused more than 70 thousand deaths worldwide. Objective: To describe the characteristics of COVID-19 patients who died in a tertiary hospital. Methods: A descriptive study was carried out in the emergency service of the Hospital Rebagliati in Lima, Peru, which includes deceased patients with a positive result for SARS-CoV-2 infection diagnosed by PCR-TR until April 4, 2020. The medical history was reviewed. and hospital records looking for sociodemographic variables, clinical characteristics, radiological manifestations, treatment and evolution. Results: 14 cases were identified, 78.6% were male, average age 73.4 years (range 26 to 97). 21.4% of cases acquired the infection out of Peru. Risk factors were found in 92.9% of patients (more frequent elderly, hypertension and obesity). The most frequent symptoms were dyspnea, fever and cough, with illn...

According to studies of the World Health Organization at least around 1. 35 million deaths and between 20 to 50 million injuries are caused due to car accidents, due to this fact the present research work seeks to mitigate this figure before the problem of car accidents on the roads of Lima, that is why a mobile application was designed whose objective is to detect and report accidents, when performing this action the driver sends his contact information (ID, phone, email, family number) and location in real time to the nearby authorities such as police stations or hospitals and likewise the message comes as a notification to their families. For its development we used the agile methodology Scrum whose structure was very useful to display the information proposed, also design tools such as Balsamiq and Marvel App were used to create the interface. Finally, it is concluded that car accide...

In recent years in Peru, there has been an increase in car accidents that have occurred on the roads. Where these figures are worrying because year after year, the curve of accidents and deaths skyrockets without having sought a definitive solution; only in these last 5 years the accident curve has increased to a thousand accidents per year where a definitive solution has not been seen, causing these accidents to cause fear in the Peruvian and foreign populations who want to get to know this beautiful country and its cultural diversity. Therefore, in this research, it has been proposed to develop an artificial intelligence algorithm to be able to analyze and predict car accidents throughout Peru, with the final result that these final results can serve as strategies for the development of emerging technologies to be able to counteract these accidents. Automobile, the final data of this i...
