Para la selección de la muestra se usó el método no probabilístico. El nivel de higiene oral fue evaluado a través del índice de O´Leary para determinar el comportamiento de la higiene bucal al iniciar y finalizar el estudio. Así mismo, se realizó el proceso de calibración de la examinadora en una prueba piloto. Los datos recolectados fueron procesados de forma automatizada en el programa estadístico SPSS Statistics 27. Resultados: Antes de la intervención educativa el nivel de higiene oral de los preescolares fue un 56.35% de PDB y posterior a la intervención educativa 32.41% de PDB (p=0.00). Los preescolares de ambos sexos asimilan de igual magnitud las instrucciones en higiene oral para modificar sus hábitos, los preescolares de 5 años obtuvieron diferencias sobresalientes de su higiene oral en comparación a los preescolares de 3 y 4 años. Conclusiones: La intervención educativa es efectiva en el nivel de higiene oral en preescolares de la Institución Educativa 1576 Jerusalén. La Esperanza, 2023

The non-probabilistic method was used to select the sample. The level of oral hygiene was evaluated through the O'Leary index to determine oral hygiene behavior at the beginning and end of the study. Likewise, the calibration process of the examiner was carried out in a pilot test. The data collected were processed automatically in the statistical program SPSS Statistics 27. Results: Before the educational intervention, the preschoolers' oral hygiene level was 56.35% of PDB and after the educational intervention, 32.41% of PDB (p=0.00). Preschoolers of both sexes assimilate oral hygiene instructions to the same extent to modify their habits; 5-year-old preschoolers obtained outstanding differences in their oral hygiene compared to 3- and 4-year-old preschoolers.
