description La presente investigación se titula “Estilos de crianza e inteligencia emocional en estudiantes de secundaria en una institución educativa en Piura 2023”, la cual tuvo como finalidad establecer la relación entre estilos de crianza e inteligencia emocional en estudiantes. Respecto a la metodología empleada, la investigación fue de tipo básica, con un diseño no experimental, descriptivo con diseño correlacional. Por consiguiente, la población estuvo conformada por 515 estudiantes de los cuales se extrajo mediante un muestreo no probabilístico intencional a 220 estudiantes. Los resultados que se obtuvieron en la institución educativa de Piura en 2023 se destacan que el 19.5% de los padres tiene un enfoque autoritativo y el 22.7% es considerado negligente en los estilos de crianza. Respecto a las dimensiones de los Estilos de Crianza de Steinberg, se observa que el 41.36% de los estudiantes tiene bajo compromiso, el 47.73% muestra baja autonomía psicológica, y el control conductual se encuentra en un nivel medio (39.09%). La distribución desalineada de estas dimensiones puede afectar los análisis inferenciales. Se concluye que la relación entre estilos de crianza y dimensiones de inteligencia emocional fue débil y parcial, destacando una asociación inversa significativa del control conductual con la evaluación de la emoción de uno mismo (-0.213, p valor=0.001<0.01).

The methodology used was basic, employing a non-experimental, descriptive correlational design. The study included a population of 500 students, from which a random sample of 217 students was drawn. Findings from the Piura educational institution in 2023 highlight that 19.5% of parents exhibit an authoritative approach, while 22.7% are considered neglectful in their parenting styles. Regarding Steinberg's Parenting Styles dimensions, results show that 41.36% of students exhibit low commitment, 47.73% display low psychological autonomy, and behavioral control is at a moderate level (39.09%). The misalignment of these dimensions could impact inferential analyses.
