Parallel parking, in general, is a moderate difficulty maneuver. Moreover, for inexperienced drivers, it can be a stressful situation that can lead to errors such as stay far from the sidewalk or damage another vehicle resulting in traffic tickets that range from simple parking violation to crash-related violations. In this work, we propose a computationally effective approach to perform a collisionfree parallel parking. The method will calculate the minimum parking space needed and then the efficient path for the parallel parking. This method is computationally inexpensive in comparison with the current state of the art. Moreover, it could be used by any car because the parameters needed to perform all computations are taken from the specifications of real cars. Preliminary results of this work were summarized in [1] that was presented at the 15th International IEEE Conference on Intell...

The aim of this paper is to highlight the ductility of the legislative limit of the employer’s supervisory power. This is favoured by the use of abstract terms such as «reasonable and necessary». These terms are left to the employer to define and justify the application of labour inspection measures, such as video surveillance. The referred ductility allows the obtaining of evidence with violation of the fundamental right of the worker to the protection of personal data related to his dignity. Frequently, the evidence is relevant —especially when it relates to the imposition of disciplinary measures— and it is admitted into labour proceedings without any additional filter. The latter violates due process, because it allows the entry of illicit evidence; consequently, there is a transgression that also impacts on the inefficient use of available resources, as well as the incorpora...

Toxicity can have a major impact on player engagement and satisfaction. It is a complex phenomenon that has diverse causes and consequences. Among the most common causes are anonymity, competitiveness and frustration. The consequences can be serious, such as harassment, abandonment of the game and psychological damage. Gaming companies are working to find ways to address forms of toxicity on their platforms. One of the most common interactions with toxicity occurs in chat windows or in-game messaging systems. The proposed work is to pull some chat messages that occur in these "lobbies" or take them offline so that they can be categorized to determine if the player who wrote in the chat committed an infraction and depending on the category take action on the case.

Sleepiness could cause different accidents at work and in our daily lives. Activities such as driving a car, handling heavy machinery, being in charge of controlling a satellite or monitoring a nuclear plant, are activities that require short visual and motor reaction times. These reactions could be affected by sleepiness. The highest number of these accidents is related to vehicular accidents. WHO statistics show that 1.2 million people worldwide die every year due to road crashes, 50 million people are injured, and more than 3,000 people die daily from road traffic injuries. The primary objective of the present work is to develop a tool based on techniques of artificial intelligence and image processing that can detect states of sleepiness in people whose work needs the greatest attention-to avoid accidents. The idea is to develop an algorithm that can be executed on a computer and thr...

This report analyzes the nature and characteristics of technological evidence, as well as its regulation in the Peruvian labor process. At the same time, the different digital sources from which this evidence can be extracted are studied, such as e-mail, the Global Positioning System (GPS), labor video surveillance, social networks, among other technological systems that are used on the occasion of labor contracts. Also, the admission of such means of evidence will be analyzed, and whether it is possible to exercise the right of contradiction through the raising of evidentiary issues. Finally, it will be analyzed whether there is a coalition between the exercise of the right to prove through technological evidence and other fundamental rights of the worker or employer.

In these times of pandemic, hospitals are being the focus of many innovations, not only for the adaptation to telemedicine, but also from the perspective of the use and processing of the multiple modalities of medical images, where we find images made up of a single Image such as x-rays, images that are made up of a sequence of images such as tomography and Magnetic Resonance, or in video format as is the case with ultrasound and angiography. One way of working with images is through popular image servers that connect to medical equipment for transfer and storage. In the process of visualization and processing, special workstations with good computational capacity are required for these purposes, in most cases these workstations are connected in the network of medical offices, therefore they are presented in a normal working image display requests at the same time. The methodology presen...

We present a first approach to a new method to compute the motion estimation in digital videos using the two-dimensional instantaneous frequency information computed using amplitude-modulation frequency-modulation (AM-FM) methods. The optical flow vectors are computed using an iteratively reweighted norm for total variation (IRN-TV) algorithm. We compare the proposed method using synthetic videos versus a previous three-dimensional AM-FM based method and available motion estimation methods such as a phase-based, Horn-Schunck and the Lucas-Kanade methods. The results are promising producing a full density estimation with more accurate results than the other methods.

In recent years, there has been increasing interest in developing automatic Sign Language Recognition (SLR) systems because Sign Language (SL) is the main mode of communication between deaf people all over the world. However, most people outside the deaf community do not understand SL, generating a communication problem, between both communities. Recognizing signs is a challenging problem because manual signing (not taking into account facial gestures) has four components that have to be recognized, namely, handshape, movement, location and palm orientation. Even though the appearance and meaning of basic signs are well-defined in sign language dictionaries, in practice, many variations arise due to different factors like gender, age, education or regional, social and ethnic factors which can lead to significant variations making hard to develop a robust SL recognition system. This proje...

This article intends to explain the different possibilities of representation of what we will call “fictional ecosystems”, being imaginary ecosystems that are developed through visual representation, highlighting their importance to establish, develop and maintain a connection with the inhabited territory, as fundamental relationship to build a society that questions the subjectivities established in the coexistence with the natural, humanized and collective environment. Thus, an explanatory line is developed, which answers the following question, can elements of visual representation be used for the creation of “fictional ecosystems” that help to question the relationship that we build with our natural and humanized ecosystems in the contemporary environment and its corresponding problems? The answer is built through a methodology created using two phases of analysis. An explana...

The incorporation of morphometric data into cladistic analyses poses methodological challenges, particularly in handling continuous characters and landmark configurations in matrices that include multiple individuals per taxon. Although the program TNT (Tree analysis using New Technology) has integrated functionalities for directly analysing continuous and morphogeometric characters, there remains a need for complementary tools that facilitate data preparation and processing. In this context, we present two open-source applications developed in Python: py_tps2tnt and py_tm2tnt. The former transforms TPS files containing multiple individuals per taxon, performs Procrustes alignments, calculates mean configurations, computes centroid size ranges, allows the selection of inter-landmark distances, and exports various types of data into TNT-compatible formats. The latter, py_tm2tnt, focuses o...
