In the present work, we study a non-homogeneous second order partial hyperbolic differential equation, its canonical form, its resolution using D’Alembert’s formula and  Green’s theorem. Only mixed initial conditions that are not homogeneous are required to solve this problem. There are several physical problems that lead to this type of mathematical model, so this technique of resolution contributes to the knowledge of finding explicit solutions of problems such as two-dimensional wave type. Within the results the explicit solution of three cases is generated: regarding the homogeneity and non-homogeneity of the initial conditions and the term source, from the point of view of analytical solution for continuous functions.

Explicit Finite Diferences Methods (FDM) are used for numerical simulations in seismic problems. In these cases the medium is heterogeneous and for the guarantee of a precise and stable solution there is the need to use refined discretizations for spatial and temporal variables, resulting in large-scale problems. In this paper we present the explicit FDM for the wave equation in a heterogeneous domain and show the results through computer simulations.

Objective: To evaluate healing in partial skin graft donor sites using a skin substitute compared to a xenograft in patients with different diseases requiring partial skin grafting. Materials and methods: This paper presents a report of 20 patients between 19 and 65 years from the Plastic Surgery Unit of the Hospital María Auxiliadora in Lima Metropolitan Area, Peru, between December 2017 and June 2018, where healing was evaluated in partial skin graft donor sites. An interventional, analytical, prospective and longitudinal study was conducted using a double-blind design to control possible biases. For the statistical significance analysis, nonparametric tests with a 95 % confidence interval were used. Results: Using a skin substitute, a better healing quality of donor sites of epithelialization was seen compared with xenografting. Both techniques were evaluated with the Vancouver ...

Densities of DL-2-aminobutiric acid in aqueous solutions of nitrate sodium were determined every 5 K at temperatures ranging from 283,15 to 318,15 K using an Anton Paar DMA 5000 vibrating tube densitometer. The apparent molar volume, the infinite dilution apparent molar volume, the second derivative of the infinite dilution partial molar volume with respect to temperature, the partial molar volume of transfer at infinite dilution, and the number of hydration were calculated. It was found that the values of the second derivative of the apparent molar volume limit with respect to temperature are negative at all concentrations of mixed solvent; This implies that the solute-solvent interactions are favored and that the DL2-aminobutiric acid acts as a disruptor of the structure of the solvent.

This paper deals with stability of solution for a one-dimensional model of Rao–Nakra sandwich beam with Kelvin–Voigt damping and time delay given by 1ℎ1 − 1ℎ1 − (− + + ) − − ( ・ , − ) = 0, 3ℎ3 − 3ℎ3 + (− + + ) − = 0, ℎ + − (− + + ) − = 0. A sandwich beam is an engineering model that consists of three layers: two stiff outer layers, bottom and top faces, and a more compliant inner layer called “core layer”. Rao–Nakra system consists of three layers and the assumption is that there is no slip at the interface between contacts. The top and bottom layers are wave equations for the longitudinal displacements under Euler–Bernoulli beam assumptions. The core layer is one equation that describes the transverse displacement under Timoshenko beam assumptions. By using the semigroup theory, the well-posedness is given by applying the Lumer–Phillips ...

The present article has as a goal to show an alternative way for deriving the Black-Scholes equation using the Schrödinger equation of quantum mechanics, taking into account that both of these partial differential equations are quite similar.

“Okara” is an industrial residue generated from the production of soy milk. This residue can be transformed into okara flour, a higher value-added product that can be used in the baking industry. The main objective of this research is to determine the optimal substitution of wheat flour with okara flour without altering the process or the rheological characteristics in the preparation of panettone. As part of the methodology, the following technological characteristics were evaluated: fibre size, moisture percentage, height variations, final product weights, variation in beating times, acidity, and water activity. The results of this research showed that the optimal substitution of okara flour in the panettones is 4.2% (okara flour/wheat flour ratio of 0.05/1), resulting in characteristics similar to a standard panettone (without substitution), with a higher percentage of water reten...

In the present work, the spectral differentiation method was studied to solve the scalar  Burger’s partial differential equation. This equation has been of considerable physical interest as it can be regarded as a simplified version of the Navier-Stokes equations. Through this study, the spectral differentiation method and its convergence were described; additionally, the mimetic method and the use of the MOLE library for numerically solving the scalar Burger’s equation were presented.

This work contains the numerical solution of the KdV equation using the Petrov-Galerkin-Wavelet method. The interesting thing is to be able to calculate Wavelet integrals, using Biorthogonal Wavelets, the properties of symmetry allow the calculations to be significantly reduced. Here we will apply concepts of functional analysis and the theory of distributions immersed in the calculation of the weak derivative or distributional derivative. To obtain graphically the numerical solution and the analytical solution of this equation very used in the part of the wave and communications technology, as well as in the reconstruction of images. Recently, wavelet methods are applied to the numerical solution of partial differential equations, pioneering works in this direction are those of Beylkin, Dahmen, Jaffard and Glowinski, among others.

Two proteases from the glandular venom of Loxosceles laeta spider were isolated using a column of Sephadex G-100 gel molecular filtration equilibrated with 0,05M ammonium acetate buffer pH 5,0. One of them is a metalloprotease inhibited by 5 mM EDTA (60,5%) and the other is a serinoprotease inhibited by 5 mM PMSF (93,3%). The metalloproteinase had activity on casein and dimethylcasein while the serinoprotease had activity on citrated human plasma. They showed different molecular weights by PAGE-SDS: 35 kDa and 15,9 kDa. In addition both were antigenic against commercial loxoscelic antivenom by immunodifusion assays.

Criminal Compliance is an emerging issue in Peru, since its development and implementation in Law 30424 in 2016. And it is due to such premature condition that after years of its enactment, certain deficiencies can be observed in the results obtained. That is why the author, in this article is responsible for analyzing the regulation, along with the development and implementation of the same in this period. It raises the different theoretical points that affect the usefulness of the regulations, and that represent the need for a reform that provides the necessary tools to legal entities for a correct implementation of criminal compliance.

Fixed prosthodontics is performed in different materials to replace absent dental structures, which can be totally metallic or metallic coated with ceramic, being generally widely used. At present, we have proposals for fixed prostheses with better aesthetic results, such as metal-free prostheses, which allow the professional to reproduce better and in more detail the dental anatomy and in this case also the gingival character. Materials such as zirconia are available that have properties such as biocompatibility, low thermal conductivity, resistance to corrosion, naturalness and aesthetics. In addition, new technological methods are available with which very satisfactory results can be achieved, such as the use of CAD-CAM technology. The present clinical case is focused on the replacement of dental organs and soft tissue, for the rehabilitation of the anterior sector, with materials wit...
